    Backup PC

My PC died for a few days, so I installed StreamFab on my back-up. When I went to authorize it, I got the message:
    Device Authorization Failed!
You don't have enough authorizations for this device.
Is StreamFab tied to a single PC?

Go here and deauthorize the PC that died then authorize the new one inside StreamFab

DVDFab Member Center aims to provide best user experience, here users can request resending key, changing email and renewing DVDFab products such as DVD Copy, Blu-ray Copy, DVD Ripper, Blu-ray Ripper and so on.

So you are saying that it can only be authorized to a single PC. That seems very limiting.

I believe most of the DVDFab products can be licensed for multiple computers - but there are limits. It may be a qustion of what you purchased. Go into your license information and see how many computers you can be authorized for. Log in, and go into "My Account" and "License Authorizations" and see what is in there.

It turns out that I have a single computer license. Did not know that when I brought it. But I can go to a 3PC license for $29. Have to decide if it is worth it for a backup system.

          Thanks for the info.

Most (but not all) software today requires on-line authorization as they are licensed for a single computer, unless additional licenses are purchased. This prevents one licensed product from being installed on multiple computers, thus losing revenue for the developers/distributors.

DVDFab uses the mac address(es) of your installed and active network card(s) for authorization each time you launch a product. So if you have, say, an ethernet card (or onboard) and a wireless card (or onboard) that were both active when you last authorized a DVDFab product, and then you disable (or change) one of them, then the authorization check will fail. So if you ever need to change a network adapter or its status, you should first deauthorize the DVDFab product, then reauthorize it again after the change. I discovered this first hand when i disabled my onboard wireless adapter (I use hardwired connection on my main PC and disabled wireless for security reasons). It may use other authorization checks but if you look at your authorized license info on DVDFab's site, you will see the mac address(es) for the adapter(s) that was/were active on your PC whenever the license was last authorized.
