Vimeo On Demand - StreamFab only downloads one minute

I am able to download via yt-dlp using cookies.txt, however, the maximum quality available is 720p.

With StreamFab, I get three 1080p options, but they all only consist of the first minute of a 55 minute video.

I noticed in yt-dlp that it is multi-segmented, so maybe StreamFab is only downloading the first segment?

I also noticed that StreamFab says "YouTube Downloader" on the top, so I'm not sure if that's correct and it should be saying "Vimeo Downloader".

Anyway, this is a $12 rental that expires in 2 days, so if this is something that can be fixed, I will probably have to re-rent it for 1080p. (It's not available for purchase.)

    Logs.zip

Edit - I'm unable to upload a zip file of my logs. It looks like it worked, but then the attachment disappears and the inserted link doesn't work. Using ZippyShare instead:

You are downloading the trailer. Not the actual video. The trailer is 1:16

Also, i am pretty sure it's only available in 720p because even on pirate sites all i could find is the 720p version

Oh, that makes sense. That is what is played if you are not logged in or haven't rented it.

Since I am logged in and the rental is active, then I'm guessing Vimeo On Demand isn't supported by StreamFab?

Vimeo only plays back up to 720p in web browsers. On players like Roku, etc., Vimeo plays back in 1080p. StreamFab can download Vimeo videos in 1080p. But not for Vimeo On Demand I'm guessing.

The pirate sites you checked likely just downloaded the Vimeo web browser version (youtube-dl et all).

You can confirm this by checking any Vimeo HD video (for example this one) in a web browser. Click the gear icon and you can see the maximum quality is 720p. Put that URL into StreamFab and it can download it as 1080p.

I am not sure. What version of StreamFab are you using? But if you used bestvideo+bestaudio in yt-dlp, then 720p is the best version they are serving.

Unless you use --allow-u also and see if it downloads a 1080p version with garbled video. Then we know that 720p isn't DRM protected while 1080p is...

I tried --allow-u -F in yt-dlp for the title shown in my top original post, and it shows 720p as the maximum quality.

I also tried the regular Vimeo example I gave above a few posts above in yt-dlp without --allow-u, and it shows 1080p as the maximum quality, and can also download the same top size/bitrate as StreamFab can.

So it may be that the title in my original top post is only available in 720p. But since StreamFab can't download it (only the trailer), then I guess we can't be 100% certain.

yt-dlp downloads this as 1080p. Which is why i was saying probably all that is available is 720p for that particular one.

Maybe try --user-agent "Roku/DVP-9.10 (519.10E04111A)" with yt-dlp but i doubt it will make a difference. Also, instead of using cookies.txt, use --cookies-from-browser chrome or whatever browser you use

It's also possible that for Vimeo On Demand, the site is able to tell that the content is being streamed from a web browser / computer, and not a device (Roku, Apple TV, etc.), and does not list any format above 720p. In that case, then I'm not sure if StreamFab can do anything about it. For example, Criterion works in StreamFab (their content is hosted by Vimeo), but only up to 720p. In Criterion apps / channels on devices (Roku, Apple TV, etc.), it can go to at least 1080p.

Before I even saw your post, it occurred to me to try using --user-agent in yt-dlp with the latest version of Roku (--user agent "Roku/DVP-11.0 (11.0.0.4193-46)"), and it didn't make a difference, so it may very well be that 720p is the maximum quality available. Still can't be absolutely 100% certain though, and StreamFAB should at least be able to download what yt-dlp can.
