    Hulu Hulu download speed 6143

In downloading something from Hulu today, it is coming in at a kilobytes/s speed. Best I can evaluate, maybe 1.5x speed, so a 20 minute video is taking about 13 minutes to download.

Just did an Amazon download and a 45 minute video took around 30 seconds.

I noticed Hulu just added interactive ads to their Roku streams, such as an ad for an alcohol asking you to select your drink, then it plays the ad based on your selection. Could this be related? I know the way ads are skipped should not be affected, but they could be.

Attaching a log now. It worked fast a little bit today but it is very slow again.

Another log. Not sure if they purposely slow the download down on an SD show, but this 43 minute episode took around 38 minutes to download on a 1 Gig connection

Downloads at full speed on the competitor program.

I am getting 4-5MB/s on Hulu. Not super fast but this is over a VPN and using a powerline adapter connected to the router.

Try restarting your router or updating SF to the newest version.

Lately (with 6.1.4.4 Windows), it's been super slow for me, too. .I've deleted the entire Cache directory, restarted the PC, and restarted StreamFab several times, but nothing has changed.

The first download (I'm redownloading the "Weeds" TV series at 1080p), quickly climbs to 40mps. When a little more than half of the first episode has been downloaded, it gradually drops to 40k-1mbps, where it remains. Each additional episode slowly rebuilds speed, but tops out at 4-7mbps. Then the process repeats for each other episode. In addition, it's spending an inordinate amount of time processing each episode after the video and audio have been downloaded. As a result, it managed to download only 35 episodes in 8-10 hours.

Note: During this, I ran a Speedtest on the PC, and download speed is/was still normal at 430mbps.

The QA team will test it.

It appears (for me, at least) that the issue may have corrected itself. Now--eight hours later--I'm seeing normal download speeds again.

It might have been the TV series specifically, which is not an HD show, and their servers recognize it needs low bandwidth to watch. I know the QA team has the logs so they can tell what I was trying to retrieve.
The fact that the other program downloads it at full speed is a possible clue as well.
I am able to get another SD show at full speed.

                  Thanks Mona for acknowledging.

Mona I don't know if the developers are alreaedy working on this issue, but you might mention that Total Speed (in the upper-right corner) now is no longer being displayed while downloading. It now reads a constant 0.00.

Do you have this "reads a constant 0.00" with different series? We don't have this problem when testing a random video.

I was downloading the “Moonlighting” series only. I’ll try a few others today, as well as retest a few random ones from that same series.

Mona I can't replicate the issue today. I thought that it might have been related to downloading at 720 rather than 1080, but the same series (as well as others) now correctly displays a Total Speed figure.

I do confirm, super slow for me on Disney, with or without VPN.

Primeval (TV show) seems to do it regularly. Some episodes work fast, some work super slow, even if you cancel and restart several times.
