Same for me also and not sure why, I think this "Ask Crap" was also in version 2500 but that version never installed the desktop icons.

EDIT: Also version 2510 changed two settings in the settings page for "read" and "write" under the file splitting dropdown for those that changed the default setting, I have mine set to "none".

The problem is so many don't, and won't. I donate on a regular basis as I started in his previous forum. Plus I use IB a lot, every disc I own has either been burned with IB or DVDD.

I think LUK ought to do the same thing r0lz did and put nag screens or take away some of the features kinda like feng does with DVDHDD.

FYI: A $1 dontation gets eaten by PayPal, need to be at least $5 at a bare minimum.

    AX

LUK is a very smart man, this is purely business, the application by itself is a great, it still is with this crapware, but advertizing means more R&D and if I wanted to give my work away I would expect the people that use my freeware to understand that advertizing is essential in any business. You are right Signals, if everyone just gave a dollar this would not have been necessary ( most probably) but I do not hold this agaist him, I applaude his effort to keep the program alive and getting better with every update.

Yes I see all the things you see, but you have the Uniblue Suite installed, so it will work, if you do not have the Uniblue Suite or those programs installed it will default to your web browser and open to the Uniblue Website to do a free scan. I knew you were a good guy.

In the image I attached in Post #10 I do NOT see icons ? I see a drop-down list when I click "Tools", i.e.:
    • Improve System Performance ..
    • Scan for Outdated Drivers ..
    • Scan for System Errors ..

What do you see when you click "Tools" ?

As I mentioned, I have the UniBlue Suite previously installed. Those are UniBlue tools and I want to know what you see ? ? ? And please don't say "Icons" again, or I;ll beat my keyboard into the monitor !!!
When I installed the new Imgburn, I unchecked all the Ask crap, and it installed perfectly, only to find Icons on my Desktop to that if clicked on open your browser and go to the Uniblue Website. I deleted those Icons because Uniblue products are not what I call " Best of Breed". Dont smash your keyboard because then you wont be able to tell me I am wrong again.

What are you saying that those Icons from Uniblue are programs installed on your computer? I think not. Were you born on Weds.

They are just Desktop Icons that link to your default browser. All you have to do is delete them , no programs files were installed.

First, thanks to ant1rock and Chameleon for posting the above info !!

Boy what a change log, geezzz

    Added: 'Reset DMA' feature to the 'Tools' menu. It's just an internal version of the 'ResetDMA.vbs' script found on the Internet. {Dat's KEWL}

I also noticed that IB's memory usage jumped from 21,9xx K to 28,7xx K, hope it doesn't become bloatware

Lot of new features, I never really used the NEW "Disc Layout Editor" introduced a while back. Guess I should try working with it now that it incorporates an "Explorer Pane". I come from the ole school and never saw a need for it.

Plus the links to the UniBlue products in the "Tools" dropdown pane. This is OK for me as I had the UniBlue Suite already installed previously.

Also see attached, I did uncheck the three boxes as I already have shortcuts in Start and a Quick Launch icon (my preferred method for starting IB). But it looks as though ASKINSTALL CHECKER still wanted some sort of access, I just clicked Deny.

I use ImgBurn exclusively to make DVD and CD burns, best burner on the planet !!!

PS: Don't know if you ever paid attention to the status/info bar at the bottom of IB after start-up .... see attached .. LUK's got some pretty funny stuff in there !!
