I noticed that now when I download from Netflix, it only downloads in AVC / x264 even though I specify HEVC / x265.
I had this same issue with Amazon a long time ago and I see that only now has that issue been fixed.
I downloaded the movies "I See You" and "Re/Member" from Netflix and both downloaded in AVC instead of HEVC. Also, the bit depth is only 8 bits instead of 10 for all VIP services.
I have also noticed that StreamFab is downloading movies / tv shows in CVBR instead of CBR. In the past there used to be an option to select between CVR and VBR, but now it seems that you no longer offer the choice and only allow CVBR. Is there a reason for doing this?

Not everything on Netflix is available in H265. Especially older stuff.
New-ish Netflix series and Movies are but most 3rd party stuff isn't.
Look at to see what may be available in H265. You also cannot get H265 with a "Basic" plan. You need the Premium plan for H265 HDR10 and Standard for H265 SDR.
AFAIK, only HDR stuff on Netflix has 10-bit depth. I don't think i have encountered 10-bit stuff on Amazon, HBO Max or Hulu.
On Amazon, it seems H265 stuff is only available in CVBR and that is why it only lets you choose that. If you switch to H264 on-the-fly you'll see the CBR option is available. I prefer CVBR so i never noticed before when it was a drop-down instead of a radio button.
