New ITVx not downloading is 720P

I just purchased today. I am only getting 480p. I have tried the most recent episodes of I'm A Celebrity and Big Brother. I cleared Log and Temp folder - still no joy. Please advise.

ITVX is only 720p through a browser. Thats it.

Tried again and got 720p for Celeb, but still only 480p for BB. Log attached this time.

Your log shows that Big Brother was not 480p but failed entirely with a 603 error - Access Denied. Prior to that there were numerous listings of this type:

In short, it appears that you are having some encryption problems perhaps caused by your VPN. Since your first show, Celebrity, worked, I'd clean your cookies, history, other data, and delete your temp folder contents and try again just with BB. Let me know how it goes and if it fails please post the new log file.

Recently, either on this forum or the competitor's, a person had a similar problem that was fixed by, I believe, turning off the encryption on their VPN. I'm going to try to track that done and perhaps we could try something different. No promises.

Questions: You were trying to download BB S01E36 Live Final, correct? Do you have a ITVX Premium account?â

But the one he is trying to download is 720p. I was able to download the file using MPD at just itx.com. That was with version 6.1.5.2 because I haven't updated to 6.1.5.3 or 6.1.5.4 yet. Of course it failed when it went into Processing mode (I knew it would) but logs and program show that it is a 720p file.

I'm not seeing anything unusual in your log this time until the Remux. Everything looks normal to me until after the Remux and then it shows 480p. Your screenshot says otherwise though with the 480p showing in the download. Confusing. I guess I'm going to have to load up 6.1.5.4 and use up one of my ITVX trials.
Just for fun in the meantime could you switch your Remux from FFMpeg to MKVMerge. I don't have a lot hope for it but I just want to test to see what happens.
By the way, what VPN are you using? Can you switch it to another location in the UK?

Jack, could you take a look at his log to see if I'm missing anything?

None of that helped. I use Nord VPN and tried a different UK server. On a different computer, I downloaded the file the "old" way (selecting itv.com from the YouTube link in the program), and it downloaded in 720p, so I think it must be something with the new version.

I just used up one free ITVX trial and had no problem getting Big Brother S01E36 at 720p. I say no problem but I thought the video part of the download was way slower than it should be, but that has nothing to do with your problem. It might have been a VPN issue, hopefully.

My suggestion is to do a clean install of the latest StreamFab release, meaning use a professional Uninstaller such as Revo, Ashampoo, and many others (Google "Uninstallers" for additional free and pay programs) to uninstall SF and then download the latest StreamFab release from the Sticky announcement at the top of this forum and install it fresh. Also, be sure to remove your current SF Log and Temp folders before installing the latest StreamFab release. Let me know how it goes.

Remember even if it is 720p you still need the HD keys to download it. Fab doesn't have those keys if they did it would be 720p. If no HD key is present you get SD 480p.

Uninstalled all versions. Still 480p. Reinstalled 6.1.5.3 and got 720p using DRM (also faster download speed). Not sure what Chameleon means by keys. I purchased the ITV downloader which offers 720p - and the video is clearly available in 720p. Thanks to all for the help so far.

Sorry, you've lost me (as well as plybyplyax) on this. I was able to download at 720p using one of my free trials and so was he on another machine. So, StreamFab obviously does have the keys. I asked him to try a clean install of StreamFab on the computer that was only getting 480p thinking something was not right initially with the installation of SF on that machine. Being that nothing changed for him using 6.1.5.4 left me confused. When he went back to 6.1.5.3 using MPD and was able to download at 720p and at a faster speed, this matched my results for that Big Brother episode. I realize now that the reason my MPD download failed during Processing the first time was that I never was asked nor did I give my username/password. Correcting that makes it work fine and fast. I'm starting to think there is something not totally correct yet about this new ITVX module. Using the previous itv.com MPD method is much better. The new module only works in M3U8 and is terribly slow.
I welcome others with ITV passwords to also test compare the two methods and share their results and their log files. For comparison sake please test at least Big Brother S01E36. Pending those results, it might be best for Jack/Mona/Wilson to send this new module back to the Developer for re-evaluation.

When I tried to queue the rest of the season, E11 reverted back to 480p. After clearing queue, logs and, temp, I can now only get 480p, even doing one at a time.

This is my first time adding on and I'm not particularly happy about it either. Downloading Big Brother one episode at a time and getting 720p so far (through S1E8). Have not gone back to Celebrity. I added ITV for the subtitles.

I managed to download some ITVX as 1080 some months ago when it worked with MPD. Despite paying for Streamfab almost at Day One I'm expected to pay yet again to get a proper ITVX service. From the sound of it this is yet another Streamfab fail so even if I hadn't already gone for Anystream Plus which does ITVX in 1080 properly I wouldn't be paying Streamfab for things I should really be getting for free
