StreamFab for Windows SF 6.2.0.7: Bigger Fish To Fry, But...

When this version of SF checks for an update "on its own", I'm seeing the following message:

Name:	2024-11-30 12_54_31-LiveUpdate.png
Views:	431
Size:	38.9 KB
ID:	454931

    Funny though, I'm using 6.2.0.7.

But if I manually check for an update (Menu / Check for Update), I'm being told I have the latest version.

Again, bigger fish to fry right now, just wanted to add it to the list of what's not quite right.

Since it is best not to use this updater, it doesn't really matter what it shows and what it doesn't!

Unless you want SF nagging the crap out of you or you're not committed to installing a newer version just yet (which in my case is often) rename StreamUpdate.exe to StreamUpdate.exe.NOPE AS SOON as you install the version you intend to run. Every time you install a version.

I think this is proof positive the built in updater is senile.
Win11 Pro 22H2, no bloatware, no spyware, no crapware, no TPM, no Secure Boot, no MS account. And yes, you can dual boot 7 and 11.

        StreamUpdate.exe.NOPE
Have done that a time or 2 but used StreamUpdate.exe.NOT, lol.
But most times I found, if it ever even pops up, is just X it out.
If you do need the update, go to the forum or directly to (here) to always get the latest full offline installer.

SF is getting so slow, mainly loading the provider sites, and I don't feel like tracking it down, might just be the huge increase in installer file size since 6201.
Don't even bother hoping that will be addressed by the SF developer anytime soon.
What a waste of time, streamfab's so-called support.
As far as logs, send them via SF itself, send feedback, or via (https://www.dvdfab.cn/member.htm?a=get_support). Sending feedback via SF is also viewable on the member site.

I don't use it. When I'm notified of a new version I'll go investigate it myself. Just thought it was odd that when it checks for updates on its own, it thinks I have a different version installed than what I really have installed.

Like I said, there's bigger fish to fry in the way of fixing what needs to be fixed.
