The forum is currently running a version of VBulletin that is VERY old and deprecated (version 5.7.5).
There have been several security fixes since then. VBulletin v6.0.0 was released in August 2023 so you should definitely upgrade to v6.1.0 that was released yesterday.
Upgrading will secure the forum and will fix the issue where it takes a very long time to post in a thread and the problem with certain international character sets.
To upgrade you need MySQL v8.0+ or MariaDB 10.6+ and PHP 8.2+
