StreamFab for Windows AMD Adrenalin and Disney+/Hulu Modules

This is one I can't prove, this is just more of a "this seems not right" feeling. And it seems to be happening with the Disney+ and Hulu modules (though this may be the case for other modules; these are just the two I've been focusing on lately)

Recently I upgraded to SF 6226 around the same time I upgraded AMD Adrenalin 25.3.1. Since doing so, it seems like there's been a performance hit when SF is both downloading (feels like half) and processing (takes considerably longer).

I first downgraded back to SF 6225 to see if that was the problem, but didn't notice much difference. I then did a complete uninstall and did a clean reinstall of SF 6226; still not much difference.

This morning I downgraded AMD Adrenalin back to 24.10.1 and I'm still not seeing much difference.

Just wondering if any other AMD Adrenalin users have noticed this as well, or (since I've been home sick the last few days) this has always been the case. There may be other factors at play as well, and I'll be working on troubleshooting other potential culprits, but thought I'd get the conversation started.

Also, a request for Cats4U: On your article for How To Do A Clean Install Of StreamFab (Windows)...can you put an emphasis point in there that by following those instructions, you willl lose everything in the Download Queue? Maybe a suggestion to have the person write down anything they want to re-acquire after the steps are followed or to make a copy of the file(s) that are associated with the download queue and then copy them back after the process is done? (That of course invalidates the purpose of doing a clean install but the user should at least write those things down to re-add them later).

When I get a chance this weekend, I'll add that additional note. I'm way past the stage of using a Download Queue. I pretty much download one show at a time as needed now. What collections I want to keep for posterity are already complete.

I always do it this way.
I first download everything in my queue. Then I do a clean install of the newer version.
NEVER use the update function within Streamfab. Always download the offline file!

Not knocking the Clean Install, but I would suggest that if you have done a clean install, the next time you need to install an upgrade, simply rename your StreamFab folder to append the version to it and install the new version via the offline installer. You will not lose your queue or have to re-login to everything.

I used to have to do a clean install every few months because something wasn't working, but ever since I adopted Germania's way, I haven't done a single clean install.

You will also notice that Germania rarely can reproduce issues that other users are having. When he can reproduce it, we know it's something that affects everyone.

My two cents. Take it or leave it.

As I stated above, I rarely keep a queue and never have need to make a backup of it. Rather than having to search through the thousands of messages on this forum for the answer, could someone please fill me in on what file or directory makes up the download queue so that it could be backed up and replaced after a clean install. Thank you.

Just a note while I have your attention, for reasons unknown (perhaps a staff member messing with my profile), I can no longer read or write private messages. So, I see I currently have 4 private messages that I can not get to. I'm not ignoring you if you were expecting a reply. In addition to that, I can not start any new topic on the forum, but I can reply to an existing topic. And lastly, I think, I am unable to go to any other forum other than StreamFab for Windows. If I try to bring up, say, StreamFab for Mac, I get the following error.

This has been going on for the past month or more.

That's another thing - I can no longer search forum messages. I get the System Error every time I try.

              jpp72,
You know I have the greatest respect for you and Germania. I'm sure his method would work to an equivalent level as a clean install, but I personally like the concept of "Out with the old and in with the new." I'd feel better knowing that there are no traces of an old SF anywhere on my computer.

I have only tested with Amazon and Netflix so far, and SF created a file in
                Code:
                %HOMEPATH%\AppData\Roaming\DVDFab\StreamFab\taskdata
called Amazon, for Amazon queued.items and a file named Netflix for Netflix queued items.
Plain and simple: just use streamfab for Windows offline installer, which is always available at https://www.dvdfab.cn/mlink/download.php?g=StreamFab_x64

The directory is taskdata (%USERPROFILE%\AppData\Roaming\DVDFab\StreamFab\ta skdata)

I have looked and looked and looked many times at your profile and there is nothing wrong with it.

I tend to think there is something on your end causing your issue. Do you have noscript, Ghostery, Privacy Badger or anything else that may block things in certain sites? Or a browser like Brave?

I would install Forget Me - Clean History, Cookies & more if using Chrome or Edge and used it to delete all site data/cookies for the forum and log back in to try again.

If you want to try a bare-bones browser, fire up StreamFab, open any module, and click any link while holding CTRL so that it opens the full Chromium browser. Login to the forum and see.

I am confident it's on your end but it could be so many things. Some VPNs could be the culprit, but even pi-hole could be messing things up.

                    Jack,
I'll start a new topic tomorrow about my System Error problem so as not to take this one even more off-topic. So far with all the testing, although I find that you are right most of the time, it doesn't look like it this time. I can't find anything that leads me to think it is something on my end. I've been working on this for more than a month. More about it tomorrow.

I think it's easy to summarize why this method from Germania and jpp72 works...

They don't use that stupid updater :-)

Personally, I stick with the clean installation method. The updater once damaged other data and services with its half-baked installation method... I don't want to experience that again.
