Hulu Only Very High Bitrates Available

Wilson.Wang, please ask the developer to check if there are other manifests with more reasonable bitrates.

Hulu used to have a lot of bitrates, then only 2 (a high one and a decent one) but now the bitrates are unnecessarily high for the type of content.

If you can confirm these are now the bitrates, i will just cancel my account. Hulu used to be the best for H265+Perfect Bitrates but now it's not worth paying for it.

The ridiculously huge bitrates you're seeing on some content for 1080p isn't actually for 1080p, but for 4k, somehow SF doesn't register that as 4k but, instead, thinks it's merely 1080p...

And if you select that, SF just downloads 1080p at whatever the 1080p bitrate actually is

Damn it. So it means it's downloading the highest bitrate 1080p, which is still overkill for a lot of the brain-dead content I download from there.

For high action stuff, H265 ~4500kbps is fine and non-action stuff ~3500kbps is plenty...

Wait, what? Did h265 get fixed?
The downloads I was seeing for h264 definitely show very large files but the actual download is small.

H265 was never broken for me. It worked when I had Hulu + Disney w/Ads, and it works now with just Hulu w/Ads.

My US Credit Card Provider was having problems, so Hulu cancelled my plan and 3 months later, I bought a Visa Gift Card while I was in the US and decided to only sub to Hulu.

I get Disney+ in Canada and can access the US library if I log in with a US IP Address, so it makes more sense to use the gift card only for stuff I cannot pay with my Canadian CC.

Many of us are jealous then!
They were rolling out a conversion for most everyone else. Is a matter of time.
