    External free keys for UltraHD Blu-ray discs

    We‘re been keeping closer attention to the latest news concerning the leaked volume keys these days. Therefore we've implemented this option for your convenience. To be able to open some UltraHD Blu-ray discs, you'll need to provide a file with keys in the settings. Please note that the content of such file is your sole responsability and therefore DVDFab cannot assist you if a certain disc is not found in it; various countries may have different discs for the same movie. Leaked keys are limited in number (if they're for teasing) or regional coverage (if they're from hobby hacker).

    Not all BD XL drives can open UltraHD Blu-ray discs! DVDFab works with UHD-friendly BD XL drives, but not with official AACS 2.0 drives as they require new and specific authentication. Here's a list of the known drives:

    UHD-friendly drives:
    LG WH16NS40(NS50), BH16NS40(NS50), BE16NU50, BH16NS55, BU30N(laptop) and clones from Asus (eg. BW-16D1HT fw 3.0)
    Note: some drive firmwares have a bug, a UHD disc beacomes unreadable if the drive goes in standby (workaround: eject and reload)

    NOTE: Don't update any firmware on drives as they will lose capability to read UHD discs!

    UHD official AACS2 drives (Not Support):
    LG WH16NS60, BU40N, BU50N and clones from Buffalo
    Pioneer S11/211, XD06, XD07 and clones from Logitec

    The format of the text file to use in settings page of "External free keys for UltraHD Blu-ray discs" is:
    0xYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY = VOLUME_NAME | V | 0xYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY ; comment
    where Y is a hexdigit and the first ID is DISCID and second number is Volume Key.

    Note: While we still believe this is not a sustainable and reliable approach to decrypt 4K Ultra HD discs, DVDFab has been seeking to affiliate with a better, more reliable, and most importantly, more sustainable solution. This means, if there isn‘t going to be any new keys leaked in the future (who knows), or the leaked keys do not cover a specific disc, then there is still a solution.
