    try this -
    1. Re-register kernel32.dll: Run the command regsvr32 kernel32.dll in the Command Prompt with administrator privileges to re-register the DLL file.
then try running streamfab and see if it'll run on windows 7

there is also a program that allows you to run newer apps on older operating system such as windows 7 & vista
    called windows 7 extended kernel - https://www.sevenforums.com/drivers/...el-32-dll.html

I don't think the installation is the big problem - but Chrome 128 will probably still not work (without errors).
But it would be worth a try for those affected...

OK, that's a new one on me. THANKS! I still get messages from people running Win7 hitting version roadblocks. I'm curious if it will work with SF and it's embedded CEF.
Win11 Pro 22H2, no bloatware, no spyware, no crapware, no TPM, no Secure Boot, no MS account. And yes, you can dual boot 7 and 11.

VirtualBox is not VmVomit. Last I checked VirtualBox is not deprecated and still in active development. I use it to this day.
No it's Oracle vomit instead. You're better off with Hyper-V. As I recall the version you linked was depreciated since the latest won't run on 7.

If a member wants to hang on to Win7 as long as possible I am more than happy to help them out any way I can. I will PM them and if interested restore the VBox solution pages so they can begin the process I had to go through to ultimately migrate to Win11.
SF updated the version of Chromium to one not supported by Win7. This program will no longer run on Win7 is the correct answer. Are their other ways around it? sure. Are they simple? not really.

If installing Win10/11 fresh the following site is your friend.

The VirtualBox solution allowed me to migrate one program/plugin at a time form Win7 to Win11. It granted me the reprieve necessary to get everything ready for Win11 before I committed to it.

If it's any consolation I have a Win7 Pro VM set up for those few programs that simply refuse to kiss Win11s ass.
The way to get around the windows 7 problem is to get off windows 7. I know it's not what you want to hear, but the truth hurts. All of the effort you put in was to a problem you invented.

Chrome 109 is the last version to support Windows 7 - source
Thanks, that clears it up on why it's not working.

Truer words from a MS devotee there never was. Yes I understand Win7 is a dead OS. That does NOT negate the fact that some have not or cannot up-puke to Win10/11. It took me weeks to strip out all the ID10T crap from Win11. Another several weeks to get as many apps as possible running as they did in Win7.

You're welcome to run VMWare all you want. The MS/IBM reek it exudes is too much for me to stomach. The most recent version does NOT support Win7.

The version of VirtualBox I linked to is older but not abandoned. The main reason I went to all the trouble was to help those like me who had not been able to update to a newer version of Winblows. I tried every method of updating imaginable and all failed. Trust me, I tried every method possible (dozens) and all barfed in true MS manner.

It's all fine and dandy if SF no longer supports Win7. Although I no longer run Win7 I do understand the predicament others in that situation are faced with. I was there. I had to put up with wonderful folks like you pushing me into Windows 10/11 with no regard whatsoever the cost it would incur or the losses where incompatible applications were concerned.

It's funny but of all the people that harassed me to "upgrade" my OS not a single one of these beautiful people had any suggestions regarding migrating older PAID software to the new OS. Not a one.

All I ever intended to do was offer a viable solution to the Win7 dilemma, albeit temporary.

This thread is about running SF in Win7. Not about the heresy of running an outdated, unsupported, evil, world ending, blasphemous, non-conformist, antiquated, California cancer causing illegal OS.

So I guess it stands at "Windows 7 is screwed, done and over with, upgrade to Windows 10 or 11 or take a flying fuck in a rolling doughnut."

I think this thread is done.

I've messaged the OP with a link to the steps to migrate from 7 to a more recent version of Windows and how to get by in the interim.

I will give vxkex-extended kernel a try later on, for now I went back to the previous version of streamfab and is currently working and I will leave it for now until I eventually run into problems with downloading my favorate shows.

I am on the same thinking here. Win 7 will be my last windows products as I have already switched to mac computers, but I have already spend hundreds of $$ on buying streamfab licenses and dvdfab products for win7 so I don't think I want to rebuy the exact same licenses again just for macs.

Streamfab has been worth every $ spent for me but I would still like to get the most out of it without having to rebuy everything just to do the same thing on the new mac computer.

NewMelle It has nothing to do with being an "MS devotee". It's about logic and security. If you were complaining about not being able to use an old, outdated flavor of Linux or macOS I'd tell you the same thing. Upgrade.

The unfortunate part of expensive paid perpetual software is it either comes with a hefty support cost or it has an expensive upgrade cost to get it to work on a newer OS. The only suggestion I'd give, use Hyper-V to run the older OS so you can use that older software.

Not sure why you always feel the need to get so insulting when someone gives you an answer you don't like. It's not the end of the world, Technology moves on, so should you.

What I find insulting is the "upgrade your outdated OS or seek support elsewhere" mentality.

I've no use for Hyper-V as it requires Win10 pro or above. There again it's MS.

I don't have to run an older OS. I am running Win11 Pro. Well, a stripped down re-configured version of it. The usage data MS is getting is of zero use to them as it is entirely contrived and sometimes I even add a number of expletives in the mix. However, I did have to get to this point somehow. I did it using VirtualBox testing one program/app at a time until I was able to commit to Win11.

I'm well aware of linux updates and recently went through an update from Cent OS (now dead) to Alma OS and had to update a number of Wordpress and phpBB installs in the process. That was some real fun.

It's not that I got an answer I didn't like, it's the pompous upgrade or die mentality I take offense with. I am far more likely to walk someone through the update process than I am simply to say you suck, get a life. So sad, too bad.

                        Hi,

                        Sorry for this trouble you.

                        I missed the information, https://support.google.com/chrome/a/.../7100626?hl=en

The new upgraded browser enginer does not support Windows 7/8/8.1 any more.

And the new Google Widevine 2830 will also not support Windows 7/8/8.1, means that we may also could not download the FHD 1080p quality with StreamFab in Windows 7/8/8.1 even through we roll back the browser enginer to version 109.

And we may have to upgrade the browser enginer to solve some problems sometimes, like the Netflix login problem before.

Thanks for your support and understander.

Then please fix this or you're going to see as many pissed off people as you did when you went full screen recorder. I realize not many people still run Win7 but you'll get to know a lot of them as long as the following is incorrect and is erroneous.
