When I pressed the button to start ripping a simple BD, the program crashed and burned :-/

PS: This is a brand new PC with i7 @3,5Ghz dual nvidia cards and running on ssd .. Previous version (9.1.5) worked ok, even without GPU support.

PS1: Please note, the current WHQL driver is 337.88 (5/26/14)

This is just a warning message, not mean that does not support yet.

From the log file, the source is eject when opening. Did you eject it manually? If not maybe need to check your driver connection.

          Please try it again.
          1. Insert source to the driver.
          2. Wait windows explorer to read the source normally.
          3. Start DVDFab.
          4. If DVDFab read source fine and then begin to convert.

          Hope this help you!

err no, the drive mentioned in the log had the BD and did not eject nor did I press the eject key. I will try again with the other drive, just to see what will happen.

Try unchecking lightning shrink and just use cuda see if it makes a difference.

What's the point in un-checking it? I know it worked fine in the previous version (even though without cuda support). The only reason I downloaded this version is to see if cuda is fixed ..

                  Anyhow, I just tried it

Closed fab, re-opened it, checked the setings and pressed rip:

as you see, even though it was unchecked in settings

                  and voila, crashed again.

Because they said they improved lightning shrink I thought maybe they changed something to make it not work in this case ok it was a shot in the dark if you will but sometimes thats all it takes to discover something.Maybe try a different profile.

I would try a different movie just to see if its that as it works for Wilson.

Do you have the two cards tied together, SLI per chance?
How to post the internal log

to be comparable, I would suggest the programmers do some similar multi GPU configuration tests. In a previous version I tried 4 different GPUs before I found the optimum that worked with that version of fab. I already ripped over a 1500 DVD's/BD's the past months, and now am discovering some problems with some of the rips and re-ripping them. The point of multiple gpu's is to speed things up ..

In version 5 I also had to use dvd-passkey (manually disable the dvdfab exclusion) to be able to rip a film with dvdfab (??), as dvdfab couldn't get rid of the encryption.

I do have two cards plus the intel one (I think it's dissabled) but not in SLI mode.

Looks like lightning shrink was still on in the photo you put up is it still on in the log file made with it unchecked?

the 2 captures were made consecutively - it was disabled in the menu options but look at the second capture and the internal log:

And why do I get the "Load config failed" everytime?

Looks like the check-box unticking is irrelevant to the process.
Yes I just tried with quick sync same thing ticked or unticked the lightning shrink is always on so no way to test cuda without it.

Have you ever tried the intel quick sync by connecting the monitor to it as it's really fast I got 235 plus fps about 10 mins to convert turning a movie on the drive to mp4 audio copy with Fabs default settings. Is the cards with cuda much faster?
