Mine is a really old AMD processor, but it is 64 bit so when I scrapped it together for the kids I put Windows 7 64 bit OS on it. It won't set any speed records but at over 6MB/s it's not all that shabby.
Could be a driver, drive FW or a processor command set, just about anything .

      OS change test...

I have Windows7 32bit, but I want to try something... I want to change my operative system from Windows7 32bit to Windows8 32bit..! Maybe DVDFab disables the low speed on Windows8 with old computers...

... but I really don't understand why the last DVDFab isn't compatible the same as the previous versiones (9.0.3.8. and all the previous verrsiones!) on older computers ...!!! if something is good, why to change it...!!!

I'm a user like yourself, it will take a developer to know what changed. I do know an update to the software is by definition is a changing of the code.

of course the code is changed... but this time the performance on older computers are very reduced...!!!

              Video Drivers.. the problem!

In the "Note" about DVDFab v.9.1.5.1. you can read: "... Note: To get higher conversion speed, you need to update the graphics driver ...", it means that DVDFab needs graphics driver to process data...! I don't understand why the older versiones didn't need it... but that's all!!! Of course my old Motherboard with graphic card integrated, it isn't "well seen" by the last DVDFab, and so with the 9.0.3.8. version I have an high speed to copy a dvd, also without SATA drives, but with the last DVDFab version I must use a sleeping speed of 0,5Mb/sec....!!! THANK YOUUUU DVDFab developers... very good job!!! ((... I think that to develop a "Lite DVDFab version" for all the older computers without SATA drives and with graphic card integrated, it can be a very very very good idea...!!!!)).

                because of old CPU too...

My software developer friend told me that the new DVDFab versiones check the CPU too, and that's why DVDFab "doesn't like" my old computer with an old CPU inside.. and the dvd copy speed is very very slow...!!! A lot of people hope DVDFab developers remember the milions of old computers with Pentium III, 256 Mb Ram, Graphic Card Integrated, EIDE Drives, and Windows XP... thanks a lot...!!!

Check out this thread http://forum.dvdfab.cn/showthread.php?t=25351 found in feature requests might be of some help as it mentions something about some patch thing for older computers

                    copying taking longer

I have been having drastic changes in burn time also and have been trying to figure it out. I'm an old dinosaur on computers. Give me an AWK or VI script and I can do all kinds of things but have gotten lost as technology has advances. I used to copy a disc in 10 minutes, not it takes 38 minutes. I have checked my processor (AMD Phenom II X2 545) and it has SSE2 so the patch was not an answer. I updated my NVIDIA graphic driver. I have my speed set as automatic assuming that it would burn at the fastest possible. I have uninstalled my drives and rebooted, but nothing is helping. Anyone have any suggestions? I'm burning at about 1.5 to 2.2 Mbs. Appreciate!

Hi rahooh, are we talking the burning phase or the initial ripping phase? Be as specific as you can.

                        Slow Burn

The burning phase. I copy from Blu Ray to DVD on my hard drive, which normal time is about 60 to 90 minutes and that hasn't changed. Then I copy from hard drive to DVD, movie only. The copy process takes about 10 minutes, which is normal, but then the burn phase takes 35 to 38 minutes. Should I try spraying my drives with some WD-40?

I tried to reproduce the issue but couldn't.

                            Slow Burn no more!

Figured it out! Somehow the burn engine was changed to VSO. Set it to DVDFab burn engine and took less than 9 minutes to burn Monument Men at 9.9MBs!
