I have the same issue. I can´t mount any folder of all my devices. The only way to watch a movie i have to copy the file to the internal HD.

Sorry I have no idea how to obtain the logs.The method documented here: https://forum.dvdfab.cn/forum/dvdfab...og-submissions does not work, it requests some password I do not know about. According to this thread https://forum.dvdfab.cn/forum/dvdfab-english/dvdfab-movie-server/349029-accessing-movie-server-by-web-gui-is-blocked-by-password this method is no longer supported anyway, and when I try to follow the procedure documented in this thread I am able to log on however I can not see any way of downloading the logs.Is there a new way of downloading these logs?

Go to the local WebAPP, click on settings...see bottom right corner of included image. Then look for the zip file in your designated download folder..

Thanks lamster for your suggestion, I used Add Folder to add my NAS share. I'm not sure what it does though because I can't see any change or any new folder.Maybe it takes a while - I will check again in a few hours.

I managed to find some logs when browsing the movie server from my desktop. There are several logs under \\\share\sdcard\Android\data\org.dvdfab.box.launcher\Log:

Would these logs be the ones that are needed?

Probably...but the newer versions have that screen with the link to download and would capture the needed logs for sure.

Yes, they recommend doing it so I would do it just to avoid problems. It was recommended starting with the new v2 series.

Not much luck.
I've upgraded to 1.0.3.6.
When trying to connect to WebAPP on https://dms.dvdfab.cn/#/ (as I did before) I get the following:

However now I can connect directly to :/32080.
But still no download-logs button:

I'm still unable to to connect to the network from the movie server, although I can see it on the network (as is evident by the webAPP).

One time (out of hundreds of attempts), the Search Network functionality actually worked and I was able to add a share folder from the NAS!
However it has stopped working again and I have several others to add.

This is extremely frustrating.

Go higher on the SDK...just go to v2002.

For local access I use the host name instead of the IP because my router is the DHCP server to all the internet connected devices in my house, if I lose power or reboot the router there is no gaurentee that the DMS gets the same IP address...so the address line in the browser would look like this.....//android_******:32080/#/index. Substitute the '*' with the numbers that match your unit, see attached picture. When you type it in the URL line don't use the these '//'.

One other note avw611...the scraper algorithm is pretty aggressive and hogs a lot of the CPU's' bandwidth so it is probably a best practice to walk away from an upgrade for a couple of hours just to give it time scrape the contents of the internal drive, then setup network shares. Network scraping, depending on the speed of your router port speed on devices could take some time. While I don't have any network shares what I just said is a matter of common sense. I wired this house during construction with CAT 6 and all my devices and all my network switches and devices have gigabit ports.

Thanks for the tip about how to avoid using the ip address, it was annoying to check the router for the new address each time.

Where can I get the latest beta version?
I tried https://s3.amazonaws.com/dl-dvdfab/download/update.2002.zip (based on the original 1.0.3.6 url I had) but this does not work.

If not you can DM Signals and ask to be included, once your in then you will see the link to download it from the announcement form...the latest is v2002.

Pretty good advice 'Dead Eye', it's good to see members helping members like that. Agree 'avw611' should try V2002. Its a beta but it works so get a jump on it now.

V2002 beta is not in the insider group though, Ting posted it to everybody (public posting), not sure why the link didn't work for 'avw611', I tried his update link to V2002 and it in fact did not work, tried the posted link by Ting and it does work. https://forum.dvdfab.cn/forum/dvdfab-english/dvdfab-movie-server/367455-dms-v2-0-0-2-beta-is-out Would advise 'avw611' to try updating again with said link.

SUCCESS!

I was able to download v2002 (using the public link provided to me by Signals - I am not a member of Insider Group) and update my Movie Server. The WebAPP now finally shows the elusive Download Log button. So far so good.
I then tried the Search Network button on the Movie Server, but was faced with an endless spinning icon again. I tried the Add Network instead, and to my surprise I was able to add 2 shares successfully!

So my immediate problem appears to be solved.
It makes me wonder what is the different functionality provided by the Search Network button and why is it not working. "Search Network" sounds closer to what I was trying to do.

Regarding the host name for the movie server, I cannot see it under my network list for some reason, so I'm still using the floating ip address. I was thinking of getting the router to assign a fixed address to the movie server, but haven't been able to get this to work on my router yet.

Mine disappeared on me a while back and I ran the 'Homegroup' trouble shooter and got it back.

As a helper avw611 you should make a sticky note to stick on your monitor on your PC with the MAC ID of your DMS. From there you can bring up an Administrator level command prompt and type arp -a, this will generate a list that is the 'Address Resolution Protocol' table for your network. You will see the IP address of your DMS with its MAC ID.

Once you get the IP address then type nbtstat -A . You will get the hostname there!

Got it, my device hostname is ANDROID_CCE10. My Windows version is 1803 (build 17134.706). I might give the trouble shooter a go tomorrow.
