I don't see any new direction because of this.But the multitude of new products (see also BookFab) arouses some apprehension in me .... but I have no idea whether SF dev is somehow involved.

I saw it last week and I am annoyed because i feel this should totally be part of StreamFab. But in order to bypass the NPG, it needs to be a standalone product :rolleyes:

It was a 1 hour 41 min movie, and that's what you get once finished.I see no signs of ads as well in the final movie when playing.I used 2x record speed, which may have affected one of my dislikes below.There are only 2 record resolutions, 720p and 1080p. Can this record multi channel audio?DesktopI showed all the options, it decides what audio it records. If the website itself has an option for different audio, it MIGHT be viewable in recordfab to set it from the website, as I now found out for Subtitle, on the Plex site, the option is there but at times very hard to see in the recordfab browser.Although I now found out, even though I now have the subtitles on at Plex RF still don't record them.

I wonder if the movie will look just a little bit jerky when there is a scene with panning, beause recording a scene with a sweeping camera could be difficult to get a smooth picture

SF (during DRM) .. go another way by grabbing the decrypted video at an earlier stage,
and the video does not need to play on the screen, which also allows for faster recording

It was played faster but invisible, that's why I got problems with amazon movies,
when 2nd Monitor is connected - this only happened when playing a (amazon) movie >540p - see here

I can't say whether this is currently the case with RF due to a lack of testing by myself

Yes I remember with your 2nd monitor. I had something similar, but not because of a 2nd monitor. I had SF running in one windows session and then switched windows user. The SF kept recording, but without video content, but only audio. That was reproducable. Haven't really tested RF yet, but I assume it is as they did it during DRM problem time as otherwise there wouldn't be a dependency on streaming services. OBS records the screen and has no idea of the source frame rate - it records the framerate you set (SF at the time recorded with the same framerate as the source had) . OBS records black for protected video when capturing from Chrome. If you used Firefox instead you got the video... but with 1x speed and commercials. RF as far as i know doesn't record the ads which also is an indication that it takes the decrypted stream and encodes it instead of capturing the screen (I guess it is rather using buffering which allows for faster speed where as the video never actually gets as far as to the grafics card). Anyways, it will remain an SF secret ;-)

Doesn't this reflect more like back during DVDFab Downloader v1, and up to v3, where it was more or less a stream recorder, rather than downloader? see my feedback on v3.0.1.5, and notice Netflix, Disney+, HBOMax and CBS All Access -> https://forum.dvdfab.cn/forum/streamfab-support/streamfab/390943-audio-video-quality-so-far OR Back then was DVDFab Downloader actually capturing/decrypting the file as it played, rather than actually screen recording?

Is RecordFab just a straight up stream/screen recorder? Basically like PlayOn Desktop was, and Audials Movie is?

While Playon Desktop was great (before they tweaked the name and invalidated the lifetime licenses), albeit at 720p, my previous attempts with Audials One (includes Movie) were mostly failures.

I don't understand all the processes under the hood that StreamFab has used and is using over the years and during the DRM issues, but I am surprised this is not included in StreamFab, especially as a fall back for when the DRM changes happen, and they need time to mitigate. Then again, maybe they made it a separate product to have a revenue stream to support it?

Why would they make this product if they weren’t trying to deprecate streamfab? Wouldn’t you want an actual downloader instead of screen record. This is similar to when they moved to steam fab when the iTunes downloader stopped working. I REALLY hope this isn’t writing on the wall…

When the DRM Remover for Apple/iOS stopped working, they kept saying they are working on it, then finally after a long while of no communication it was discontinued. DVDFab downloader came onto the scene after some time of DRM Remover for Apple/iOS being gone.

So this is slightly different sequence of events/timeline.

But yeah, it does feel like they are readying a StreamFab replacement, incase they can't break the next DRM.

That being said, there are too many sites out there to make StreamFab work on, so a stream recorder could allow them to stop spending time adding these odd services to StreamFab, and be easier for them to maintain.

I think if they focused streamfab on amazon, netflix, disney, and hulu, it would be better for them. Amazon IMO is the most important one and you can gain access to most other streamers through there as well and its a rental store as well. Im hoping you are correct about the video recorder being for those other sites that people want but just take far to long to keep fixing etc. I was there for the apple/drm thing and this does feel slightly different in the way its going. Hopefully new DRM doesnt cripple the software very long if at all.

All I will say, I will NEVER use Recordfab due to audio sync issues. Cleverget, a so-called recorder, and 2 other so-called recorders have no audio sync issues.
I also never seen any video issues with the other so-called recorders, as many say they have seen.
I could not make it through a full movie in Recordfab due to the audio sync issues to see if there are video defects.

Many so-called recorders when in use 'claim' they are downloading and if they are recording they somehow do it in the background as you don't see it on screen, and they do NOT record from the screen. Recordfab seemed to show a screen and attempt to record but NEVER recorded subtitles and other so-called recorders grab the subtitles as well as the choices in Cleverget with both video format, bit rate, and numerous audio choices are more than enough for what most people should need. There are NO choices in Recordfab.

I don't know what the future will bring for streamfab, but still we have so many warning of a new CDM, and it took SF over 6 months to attempt to fix when it changed last time. Meanwhile, no issues getting movies, TV or other using cleverget and no out of sync audio and no video abnormalities even at 1080p. The one downside right now is YES Cleverget as well has issues logging into Netflix but expect a quick patch in the next few days to fix it. One last downside is Cleverget seems to have no interest, so far, to support Peacock.

I am not here to sell people Cleverget and if you do proper googling there is no need to really pay to try. If you do pay, they offer VERY high, deep discounts if/when they add new modules. And speaking of modules, they have an MPD module and an M3U8 module. And in using YouTube it again 'says' it detects the DRM in the YouTube movies and 'claims' it is kicking in a YouTube Movies Downloader which removes the DRM. Which by the way it does. Why SF can't get the YouTube DRM movies totally baffles me.

I think this topic has run out it's time and hopefully soon the mystery person or persons who delete, edit, move and lock topics etc. will lock his one as well.
The worst part of all is support claims it don't happen there is no one doing it, yet we see topic after topic get locked posts get edited, and even some posts get deleted and moved.

You don't have to worry about it at all, rf was developed to improve the product and support services, sf and rf focus on different directions, rf hopes to succeed in a universal recoder product, and we are now working hard to achieve this goal, although there are still some imperfections in the product, but please give us some time, we will continue to improve it.

I tried to record a show from cbs.com but it errors out with code 3005 . Another recorder I have does not have a problem. This was a show that is free to stream.
