I’ve also been having this issue. In my case, the results can vary if I retry.
Repro steps:
1) choose the episode to download.
2) wait for the lower-right button to change color and click.
3) StreamFab does its thing and shows the download options.
4) expected result: the pop-up window shows a high-res video option.
5) actual result 1: the pop-up window only shows the option to download 240p. Workaround: retry from 1.
6) actual result 2: the pop-up window only offers the option to download an audio file. Workaround: retry from 1.
Regarding 6, most of the times, if I simply close the window and browse to a different episode, when I go back to the original one and retry the steps, the pop-up window now offers to download the video. Sometimes in high-res, other times only 240p. A couple times I managed to get high-res when retrying after getting 240p, but this is rare.
Also, does anyone else have some kind of “time counter” that forces us to wait some time before trying to download another episode or file? It happens with many series. However, others do not have this “timer”.
Is this an iQiyi issue or a StreamFab issue? I find intriguing that we can watch the video streaming in high resolution but its file does not seem to exist. How come? If StreamFab fails some times but can get the file if we retry, doesn’t it mean it’s there somewhere and it simply fails to find it? The way it varies so much, sometimes in the same series, makes me wonder what kind of backend system iQiyi uses that makes things so confusing. In this case, iQiyi would be a database management nightmare.
I wrote to StreamFab support multiple times, even sending screenshots and repro steps to no avail. Just found this thread in the forum, which shows it seems to be a common issue.
