Steps to reproduce the issue:-

Opening Now TV App.
Now TV Homepage, select Watch Now in top Right Corner.
Select TV Shows from the top selections
Scroll down to Latest Season on Now
Select Prisoner (For Example)
StreamFab Analyzes
Series Appears, stating Resolution as 1920×1080 if Available.
Download Now
Downloads as 360p

I can only analyse when selecting top level series like mentioned above.

If I select resume an episode, or select an individual episode, nothing analyzes.

I also cannot copy a URL and anaylze from the web app outside of StreamFab either, only a full series at a time.

neo_ukss now that someone has actually produced a detailed report we’ll just have to wait for the devs to sort all the kinks out (recall that it took about four or five releases before Vudu was working properly). The simple fact is that with streaming services devs can’t encounter every single situation that end-users do… so patience is the key…

My steps are the same as @neo_ukss post above, except I search for particular TV shows rather than picking them from the “top selections” front screen.

I’ve attached three logs:
1) Sarah Silverman - Someone You Love which downloaded in 1080p

Do we also need to raise a ticket with StreamFab’s support, or will you pass on the information to the developers @0xFeedBeef?

I’d also be curious whether @Germania has any knowledge on this, as they usually know the history of most issues on this forum, so might know more about my vague memory of there being posts saying that only certain titles in the Now catalogue have ever been downloadable.

It ran absolutely fine for me and I used Parallels on Mac. Managed to get 1080p off of Hayu on there(really can’t understand about the Hayu thing on Prime still). Will we be able to access CBR CBVR and EAC3 features soon?

Hi Wilson,

That has fixed the 360p issue, I am now getting everything at 720p, but nothing at 1080p.

I have tried to download the Sarah Silverman show that Sky West said he could get at 1080p, and I could only get it at 720p.

I’m still getting brand new shows at 720p also. That show again being Prisoner that a reddit user I have been discussing the issue with also managed to get at 1080p with more options that I have.

Thanks to you and the developer for looking into this so quickly.

I’ve tested the new version and have had mixed results with content that I could only download as 360p with the previous version:

1) These three downloaded as 1080p The White Lotus Season 2 Episode 1, The White Lotus Season 3 Episode 1 and The Comeback Season 3 Episode 1
2) These four downloaded as 720p The Comeback Season 1 Episode 1, Season 2 Episode 1 and The White Lotus Season 1 Episode 1 & 2

The Comeback Season 1 was broadcast in 2005 and Season 2 in 2015, so it’s quite probable that there aren’t HD versions available.

The White Lotus Season 1 was broadcast in 2021 so you’d think there was a HD version available but it was filmed during lockdown, so I think it’s plausible that there isn’t a HD version of that either.

I’ve done two logs:

1) This one contains all the tests I’ve mentioned above, apart from The White Lotus Season 1 Episode 2

On @0xFeedBeef theory re different entitlement paths for Boost and Ultra Boost, I think this is a red herring as Wilson said he’s using Ultra Boost, I’m using Boost and @neo_ukss said they’ve tried it with both Boost and Ultra Boost.

I also tried to download Girls Season 1 Episode 1 again but got the same “Failed to obtain the decryption key, please contact us for assistance.” error but I don’t think Wilson will be surprised by that as the new version was only meant to fix content that was previously downloadable in 360p.

Wilson.Wang for what it’s worth: I’m hitting exactly the same 720p/AAC wall with TV shows, but Sky Cinema seems to be just fine at 1080p. The TV shows are 1080p on my Hisense U8, however… Something’s clearly missing in the entitlement requests for the shows… 🤷‍♂️

Also, the playback in the browser window of SF doesn’t seem to get cancelled once the download gets going, but that’s a minor issue at the moment 😉

For the sake of seeing if it was NowTV Account specific, I paid for the Boost subscription also on a separate NowTV account and I’m getting the same issue.

I cancelled Ultra Boost when I wasn’t able to download at 1080p. I didn’t want it to auto renew, but just to be on the safe side I’ve subscribed to boost.

I Still have Ultra Boost until 22/06.

For the sake of testing, I tried downloading and still only 720p.

Thanks for letting me know. Yes, I’ve tried that and it’s still downloading in 720p.

I did wonder if I was stretching things a bit to think there wouldn’t be a 1080p version made which is why I added the log from The White Lotus Season 1 Episode 2 in my previous post for @Wilson.Wang to feed back to the developer of an example where an episode was previously only available to download in 360p and now can only be downloaded in 720p.

Just out of curiosity, can you see whether The Comeback Season 1 or 2 are available in HD at HBO Max in the UK?

Germania HBO is broken on justwatch for UK, but yup, it’s there, and the first episode is a full-frame SXGA 🤷‍♂️
