I can't download youtube videos, I click the download button, but all it does is analyze the video. Any additional help would be appreciated.

Had same issue, but then realized, as of several days ago (even with free Youtube videos), you must first log in in order to bypass youtube's new "bot check sentinel". Same thing when using ytdlp. But when I hopped back to the YT homepage, I was still logged in. So, not quite working 100%.

I think I get lucky as have not had to log in to get just standard YT videos. But if users have trouble, it can only help to log in. Also, with YT the more you download in a short time the more chance it will say, are you a bot.

It hasn't been working for months now! I have been messaging support constantly about it but nothing is being done to fix it! Paying for this crap as well!

YT doesn't work on Nvidia Shields any more either. Google be messing with their security enforcements that it is now breaking legit avenues.

Support keep on trying to tell me that the YouTube Downloader is fixed when it is not! It's exactly the same bloody problem no matter what updates they release!

I don't know what all went on with you and SF support. You can wait till 7002 comes to see if there is a fix. Or try what is suggested below: What would be needed if you want to get help here in the community... It's not much more than what SF support would need. IF MAC: The last version was posted on, November 24, 2025, so YouTube may not work. Open SF and note the locations of your log folder and temp folder. Close SF, delete all log files in the log folder. Delete everything in the temp folder. Open SF and analyze a YouTube video. If/when an error shows, or it gets stuck in analyzing, then close SF. Attach the newly made streamfab.log here in the forum, and someone can see what the issue may be. **Without this info, no one here can ever help.**

For some weird reason, if I sign into another google account on YouTube from within the StreamFab browser, it analyzes videos and I can download. But if I'm signed in to my main account, it just endlessly analyzes and so cannot download anything. Why would it not work on this particular account? I'm totally puzzled.

I can try to guess. Maybe more changes are coming to YouTube? And one account only got the changes? Do the videos play in streamfab, on the not working YouTube account? As maybe YouTube put a temp block on the one account that don't work? I would say log out and back in but you woud need to do that switching accounts. You could clear streamfab cookies, just know that will log you out of all providers. Might just be bad cookies left over. Other then that get what you can on the working YouTube account. I have multiple YouTube accounts just in case one don't work. If I am not downloading any video that requires logging in, I stay logged out of YouTube. Won't be another update now for at least a week as 7002 just came out. If both accounts stop, come back and include a log file. Whenever including a log, delete the old log, open SF, go right to YouTube get it to where it don't work, wait maybe 15-30 seconds, then close SF and attach the streamfab,log. Let's just hope it not more changes by YouTube coming,

If it doesn’t change anything, then undo the renaming
and change your IP (router disconnect or VPN Server)

I managed to download one video, it just took forever to analyze that one. So I’m thinking to just let it analyze the playlist over night, and then download the files when I wake up. This is the only way for me to watch Pokemon in Norwegian.

Okay so I tested this with a short playlist and when downloading a playlist it only downloads one audio track, even though I selected both English and Norwegian. Is this a known issue?

I don’t know - I personally never used playlists

I tested this some more and when downloading AV1 files it will download multiple copies of the same file, sometimes twice. I checked how many files it should download VS how many it doeanloads and it is grabbing the same multiple times. It only gets the first audio track, even though I have selected two, it also downloads a subtitle track even though I set it to not download any. Is there any logs I need to send here to get this looked at? These things are annoying. editing this just to upload the streamfab log. it is really big now. I thought it cleared itself on program boot, however that does not seem to be the case. i will delete the log in the future before testing stuff, sorry.

I can’t change the behavior of SF ..
.. but SF use modified yt-dlp for dl from YT

And with yt-dlp, I can’t see any restrictions
example: single file with two audios (one line)
