Ok so for sure no Netflix, also no Amazon for now. The last one for major USA suppprt is peacock 4K. I want to know if that is possible or technically Limited by L1 Hardware. I don’t know how to look at that myself but if someone could show me whether it’s a possibility or straight up no?

At this point I don’t think that is a limitation. Remember we were locked to 720p on Hulu and Disney, and you see where that goes now. We still are not getting h265 on FHD content, but I suspect that is also something they could get if they worked on it the same way they gave us 4K.

Peacock offers h265 as well, but of course that is presently limited.

Apple TV is only available as 480p in browser, but SF can download 4K anyway. It’s because they get the manifest and keys from another source than the browser in SF. So theoretically any service can get 4K in SF.

If it were simple to do, would have been done already. Anything else in the forum is natter at this point.

I wrote theoretically. Actually doing it (just adding another single service) it’s a completely different thing.

It just annoys me sometimes when I see in forum it says “it can’t be done because of the limit (L3) in SF browser”. That’s far from the whole truth. If it only was based on that, then no service in SF would be able to get 4K, or even 1080p from several services like Hulu or Disney+ as @MrGrackle wrote. And Apple TV would still only be 480p.

Yes, Widevine L1 is used for Peacock H265 and 4K HDR video quality, but maybe possible in furture version.
