[7022+] downloading movies/shows purchased via apple

Soooo….. using search in the 7022 interface on Win11, does not bring up any of my purchased (e.g., Dark City Director Cut, Battlestar Galactica series, etc.). And, in Windows, the web-based interface (Chrome/ tv.apple.com) cannot show purchased items.

Apparently only way to see purchased items is from the Windows APP … but if this does not have URLs, not sure how we get the URL out of that to paste into SF to analyze/see/capture?

Pardon me for the duh. The changelog is hella vague for my fragile little mind.

(Obviously, I did clean install as admin x64 offline installer; cleared temp/cache folders; re-logged into ATV.)

I won’t deny that there never was.
It’s just that the SF change log inducates you can,
And everyone is ‘upset’.
One person now claims ‘to view your purchased content, the Apple TV fire TV and Roku apps do’.
Or we have what you 0xFeedBeef say, use Google.

Ahhh. It cannot download purchases which are no longer available for sale; like ‘Ghost Wars,’ or ‘Dark City Directors Cut’. #doh

simchris so long as it’s for sale in A locale, and you can find it on google, just substitute the two letter country code in the url with “us”

Some items no longer for sale on Apple TV, as “for sale” licenses expired from old Universal, SyFY shows, etc. Also how I ended up with two copies of THE MIST, from different license providers. Minor funk on stuff like that.
Getting S1 of Galactica reboot now; but it’s only in stereo – and I see separate post about that.

Thanks @0xFeedBeef i just downloaded one old 4k remastered movie this way, otherwise was lost 😁, strange thing is that its appearing in Spanish, me also my account is very far from Spain or similar 😂

sensat78 yup, google has a tendency to randomly pick a locale for you in their searches, just make sure the two letter country code is for the country you’re in, or you can delete that part of the url, and apple will try to insert one itself based on apple’s best guess…

Unfortunately this is causing Many issues and the change logs does say:
New: Added support to download purchase videos from Apple TV Downloader. (Note: To download purchased videos, you need to use the search function on the Apple TV website.)

Which is not the way. They can not be found direct from SF, while viewing the apple TV site.

Maybe Google does work, but should not be required..

Stan001 tbf, I can’t recall if I was ever even able to get to shows subscribed via ATV channels using ATV website search

Stan001 Perhaps a better phrasing would’ve been “you will have to search ATV website,” which is still vague 🤷‍♂️

This entire process is a mess, unfortunately and isn’t always going to result in consistent results

Some have said that the “search” box returns results , others have said not so much. From the US, I can definitely say it does not

You can get the url directly from the iTunes Store (tried both on win 10 and 11). View the item in iTunes , right click, view in iTunes , right click on the picture there and open URL. You’ll have to paste the new URL into SF (not the one given by the store)

So far I’ve yet to see a movie fail there. No success with TV

There’s literally nothing SF can do about that, if the vendor doesn’t provide an interface, nobody at SF can hallucinate one 🤷‍♂️

The short of it is: if you can get your purchase to play in a browser, SF will download it.

And I’ve tried it will a bunch of films/shows, save for a few teething hick-ups, the process works, and bitrates are pretty good…

Search for the movie on google open ATV link make sure the link contains your country for example (tv.apple.com/us/movie/avatar-fire-and-ash) copy to streamfab it worked for me if us is not your country change it and copy to fab.

Tried it now, and it does indeed work. But the bitrate for sound is extremely low - only 32 kbps.
