At one time (don't remember what ver) there was a field called Sort Title in the DMS Web manager. The key advantage was that you could keep the original title in the display, However, the sorting would be done on the Sort Title. For example...
Star Wars: The Phantom Menace - SortTitle: Star Wars: e01
Star Wars: A New Hope - SortTitle: Star Wars: e04
Would allow you to sort the films in story order. Or any other order you desire.
