    External Devices poster wall

Does the poster wall work with external usb drives? I cannot get it to scan for metadata.

You have to add the path in the library settings and it will scan the drives.

Thanks, I suspected that. I tried to add the path but could not get the path correct. I could only get devices on the network other than the MS. I had to buy an internal drive and migrate the data. I wish it supported larger than 8 TB.

Some members have used a 10TB internal drive with no problems. I haven't tried it yet myself.

... even go 14tb. With me all hard drives were recognized and the posters are all assigned.

Under the latest firmware (2013), USB drives will be automatically added to your media library.

For previous firmware version, the USB drive has to be manually added to the media library. It can only be added as a SMB link. Try this procedure:.

From within "Manage Library" do not select either "Network Search" or "add new network". The box below those option should populate with the id of your server.(Android_XXXX). Just arrow down to the Android entry and select, then select shared. Under that you should find a list of folders including the internal SATA drive and any USB drives attached (either USBA ot USBB). Select the USB folder and then choose "add selected folder". That should get the USB drive added to the library.

If you have sub-folders on the USB drive, you can continue down the folder list to select just those folders, or leave it at the top level of the drive to include the entire drive.

Once the path is loaded, go back to the "manage library" area, select the newly added path, and do an "update path"..
