    hard drive

is it possible to add and remove {edit} the movie's on the hard drive if it was removed and installed in pc. Then placed back in server? And / or can a cable be connected to server from pc to edit ?

I don't see why not...if you set the drive up with Windows it should be no problem. I have a USB 3.1 - 4 Bay external unit and I can take the drive out of my movie server and put it in an empty bay and use the drive normally on my PC.

As far as remotely accessing the drive while installed in the server most people use the network infrastructure that is in place in their residence to gain access to the file system or use the WEB interface.

If you formatted it using your pc you will have no problem. I do it that way all the time as it is much faster.

I mapped the drive in mine as a network drive and my PC sees it as just another hard drive, albeit a bit slower but you never have to touch it. Should look something like this:Click image for larger version
