    HD Questions

My 2 TB HD connected to the MS is full and I need to add a second drive.

1/ What is the max capacity drive I can add to the MS? Should it be a NAS drive or a normal 3,5 drive?

2/ If I need to backup files or transfer files from the one HD to the other HD both connected to the MS, what kind of tool do you guys use to do the transfer?

Txs and keep it safe all!

When my drive filled, I placed both drive on my PC and used partition copy software to transfer the contents to a new drive. There are several on the market today. I believe you could use pretty much any backup software (as long as to is doing a copy of the files and not compressing them or anything like that) as well as just doing a file copy. With large drives, this can take a significant amount of time.

Note: If you are moving to a 4GB or larger drive, be sure to initialize it as a GPT disk.

I would recommend an external networked NAS drive enclosure that allows mutliple drives. However best to ensure you have a system wide Gigabit Ethernet to provide best performance.
