DVDFab (UI/General) User Interface / Options Screen Improvements

    Hi Support,

I have a couple of feature requests, and apologies if they have been offered before.

    1) Unable to minimise DVDFab from the Windows taskbar. Most applications will restore when clicked on the taskbar (DVDFab included), but clicking the DVDFab icon a 2nd time does not minimise the application. The end user has to go to the minimise button within DVDFab itself.

    2) I use very few of the copying / ripping options from the Left Hand Menu - and to remove all that are unnecessary the end user has to go into the options panel to remove these from the list. The process is very tedious, in that you highlight the item in the right hand pane, select remove and this has to be done for every individual item. Why can't DVDFab allow for multiple items to be moved between the two sides, in accordance with general Windows GUI options (shift select does a range of items or Ctrl+select adds the items to the selection list). Alternatively, provide the UI option of REMOVE ALL or ADD ALL and that way if only a small number of items are required, the end user can perform a Remove ALL and then click the one or two formats they require.

    3) Perhaps I am in the wrong area for this question (further apologies), but the earlier versions of DVDFab included 624x352 or 624x468 as ratios for the ripping screens. A these I believe are a reasonable size with a good pixel depth and have been absent since DVDFab 6. I have to manually input these ratios for any rips that I perform (perhaps I am also doing something wrong here?)

    GR8 product otherwise.

    Rgds

Not sure if this will help but there is a "show registered options only" setting in Fab's common settings/customize ui.

If you're like me and own all the modules but only use a select few options/profiles in those modules then there is a work around so you don't have to go thru resetting Fab to display only what you want.

(After setting up Fab's GUI the first time)
Go to your local drive (c)>program files or program files (x86)>DVDFab folder and open it, search for a file named uictl_default.xml or uictl_custom.xml (can't remember exactly) and copy and paste to a folder of your choice (maybe where ever you save the Fab installers). Then whenever you uninstall/reinstall Fab just find that file and paste it back into Fab's program file folder.

(you'll still have to reset any write options/speed/preferences and so forth but this will take care of the GUI, hope this helps)
