I was wondering if it is planned to implement this anytime soon i have noticed others are working on it and other already released encoders/decoders for it

It's not ready for prime time.
The quality's not there yet, and the reference encoders are S_L_O_W.
Or despite all the hype, it may just flame out as did VP8.

Working in this business I can assure you that HEVC is not going to "flame out" as we're investing serious money into perfecting it. By we I mean all the engineers at Tandberg, Thomson, Harmonic, etc., etc., etc. You are correct though, it's not ready for prime time - no decoders are readily available so putting any time in just yet is early.Comment
