BD Ripper (3D Plus) Tagging 3D Rips

I always run my 3D rips through MKVMerge after they are completed for two reasons.
    1. To remove the name that DVDFab gives the MKV (Movie name)
    2. To add the fact that it has Stereoscopy (MultiView_Count, MultiView_Layout)

Can DVDFab change some settings to do this automatically. I don't need the odd name that DVDFab defaults to tagged in the MKV file. Also, DVDFab knows that the Left eye is first in Star Trek, and that I am selecting 3D TAB, so can't it tag that?

    Star Trek after DVDFab

Can DVDFab change some settings to do this automatically. I don't need the odd name that DVDFab defaults to tagged in the MKV file.
    Hi, rmeyers

You can set the format of the output file name.

Yes I realize that. I like having the Title and Codec labelled in the output file. I don't like it that this name is also tagged as "Movie name" in the mkv container's tags.

To the best of my knowledge, DVDFab version 9.0.5.5 was the last version that allowed the movie title and the file name to be configured independently. The feature was dropped last year when the program interface was redesigned. I guess the developers assumed that none of their customers would ever want a movie title that doesn't match the file name or which contain characters that don't conform to the operating system's file name restrictions...

As far as I know, there is no longer any way to tell the program to assign a movie title/name which is different than the file name, nor is there a way to tell DVDFab not to set any title/name at all.

Do you mean the Movie Title in the details? And what will you use it for, media center?PC players?Or Something else?

I am just wondering why the movie title name in the details is annoying? And what will you use it for, media center?PC players?Or Something else?

I don't know why the OP finds it annoying, but to answer how a title that doesn't match the file name might be used...

Try setting the file name to this:

Also, if you're looking for a reason why a person would want a blank title, Steamhead explains why having a "forced" title causes him problems in this thread:

Yeah, it is a problem like this, make the movie-title-name empty would be better. However, DVDFab Player is OK

I disagree. I feel that making the movie-title blank would NOT be better. Making the movie title an input value in the user interface and having an entry in the settings to cause the default value to either match the file name or remain blank would be the better solution. Those that want a custom movie title could take the time to set it. Those that don't want to take the time to set a title could either have it set automatically or not set at all, depending on their preference.
