Using DVDFab, subtitles can be burned into the conversion video or written to an external file. You would have to consult the Twonky forums (or someone else) about selectable subtitle support as I do not use the program.

I know the specification for DIVX and MKV files support subtitle tracks within the file. I've only every used DIVX for selectable subtitles since that is the only file format that the PS3 can make use of the selectable subtitles. However, you need to use another program (the name escapes me) after DVDFab to mux the subtitle tracks into a file with the audio and video.

It's not just subpic's, but audio as well that keeps me swayed towards DVDs. I keep both DTS (if available) and 5.1 Dolby Movie tracks, more if available and size allows.

My main HT does DTS, but the other home viewing locations do not.

Thanks again for all the great info, didn't mean to hi-jack/sidetrack this thread.
