DVD player dying?

When I put a dvd in the player it comes up bad disc, (origional movie). If I open and close again it most times plays on the tv ok. I have tried cleaning the lens, is there anything else to try or just recycle it, (we can recycle electronics up here! LOL)? The player is about three years old. Any comments or suggestions would be appreciated.

Sounds like you tried all I would know to suggest and it being three years old my guess is it's dying.
