What word be my best bet for compression with my pc want to get the gigs low as I can like I said in my previous post o can compress bluray but takes a while nut it works don't mind the wait

Your PC should be able to handle DVD ripping OK but for BR it woould depend on the actual profile/compression you are using.

I have used WD, Seagate, Maxstor, Samsung and Hitachi. Haven't noticed and issues or reliability with any of them.

Do not go for 3Tb, max out at 2Tb as you may have format/partitioning/player support issues otherwise.

Converting to media player

Before I place my order I have a couple questions im going to get a Micca EP350 G2 Full-HD 1080p Digital Media Player and Network Streamer plus a the 4 bay hdd dopcking station plus a couple 2 tb hdds I have and older computer it takes me under a hour to copy bluray with no compression if I compress it can b 2 6 hours but I need to know if I will be able to run dvd and bluray ripper or is too much for my pc and what is a good hdd

Yep, sure do.....

Media players will usually allow you to choose which subs and audio that you want.

The reasons that I keep more than one audio track are:-
Sometimes, I find the quality between the Dolby and DTS audio tracks differs and I like to keep both.
I also use a movie with English subs on and a foreign language audio on as a practice aid for the foreign language.

DVD Ripper can and they should come out at ~1.5Gb.

I always used to use MKV.h264.audiocopy but have stopped using it because Fab has been either unable to/not prepared to add all the features that I want so I have had to revert to using FREE software to do the job.

The features that I want are:-
Chapter breaks in the MKV
Multiple subtitles in the MKV
Multiple audio tracks in the MKV (If a DVD has both Dolby Digital and DTS, I always include both)

Unfortunately Fab does not do this.

Been driving MAINEMAN crazy with Questions! Was going to get HDD's from a friend, but didn't have any 2TB HDD's! Checked online with every retailer I could think of! Prices are unbelieveable, but with the AIOS 2TB HDD and the 2X-1TB's that I have I'm sure I'll have some paper saved by then!(one HDD at a time)!

Trying to get Blu-ray ripper for right now, so I can do Blu-rays to MKV!

Been telling MAINEMAN was sick of burnning disc, have 2 HDTV's and one is 3D ready!

I think I might have let out the smoke in MAINEMAN'S head! He might need a transplant!, but he has been a great help with everything!

Still like to know if DVD ripper can make a smaller format than an ISO, that will play on the AIOS?

Brought yesterday, 25GB BD-R (non-lth or htl) Verbatims, 25 spindel pack for $34.00 free shipping! I've used these for a while and have not had one coaster! I stay away from LTH or HTL, cheap version of BD-R! AMAZON.COM


They also have 10 packs for $17.34, but anything below $25.00 you'll have to pay for shipping which came to $24 something dollars, better deal to buy the 25 pack! There also 8X speed, I burn them at 8X and have no problems at all!
