Brothers is a great movie.
Realistic, is how i would describe it.
I give it at least an 8 out of ten rating.

I think Maguire did an outstanding job in portraying someone who would have dealt with the emotional stress of being captured, tortured and forced to kill a fellow soldier.
Remember Deer Hunter ?
Brothers was well acted all by all, fine cast and excellent performances, 8 out of 10 !

Rated R for language and some disturbing violent content.

No you have to look forward to them never leaving the house. Check out the movie House Broken with Danny Devito due to be released March 30, 2010. Not a good movie to really buy unless you like Danny Devito

I have not even bothered to waste my money on seeing Hurt Locker as all it is to me is another war movie that has been played out too much

A great flick, and as noted the casting was amazing. All the characters were recognizeable as their younger selves. I gave it 3.8 out of a possible 5.2 stars (unusual rating system due to late discovery of movies better than the previous 5.0).
I am glad others view my opinion, with regards to The Hurt Locker. No pun intended, with regards to the name of this flick. The reason why I dislike the movie so much is that it depicts this break down in the US military command structure. Why is it that alot of these military type movies always have soldiers acting like teenagers. Remeber Jarhead. What a load a bunk. I am sorry but are you telling me that every soldier in the middle east operates in this fashion. Hmmm! I find it very unlikely. Should of had a decent actor in it. Look at Clint Eastwood in Heartbreak Ridge or for the older crew Kelly's Heroes. Good military movies. IMO
Star trek great movie. I am not a real sci-fi buff, but this movie makes you want to be.

btw, what's all these multiple posts about New Moon? Read the review over imdb and many people gave a thumbs down.

Yup, that was me. I saw Avatar in 3D (but not IMAX)... I was very impressed.
On some of the scenes, I almost experienced mild vertigo.
Wonder if IMAX provided barf bags for their patrons...lol

You saw Avatar, right ... kinda thought I remember you seeing it in 3D, maybe I was thinking of someone else .....
But "Avatar" beats "Hurt Locker" by a mile for best picture, next for me would be "The Blind Side" regarding nominees they selected for Best Picture
PS: I don't watch the Oscars either, I think it's fixed, Star Trek should have been one of the nominees !!

Hurt Locker and Twilight were just average flicks, Up in the Air, above average
Surprised at how Star Trek got so overlooked, at least Avatar took a few !!!
.
I thought it was a solid flick...great special effects, great cast (somebody in casting should receive kudos for sure), great script.
Just an all-around, solid flick.
To be honest, I haven't watched the Oscars in awhile and haven't enjoyed it since Billy Crystal hosted.
Remember when he spliced himself into the best flick nominees.
The Full Monty...
"What?... too Jewish for you?...LMAO
