This is still happening with 9.0.4.0 and 9.0.4.1 - here's an install log from my latest attempt. (Zipped)

It sure as heck looks like there are just files MISSING from the package!

Am I really the only person having this problem?

The upshot is this. When it got into the 'author' folder, I gave up and aborted.

    Hi rprussell
I know for sure that Bitdefender causes problems with Fab, I run Avast, never had a problem.

    Hey there -

No, CCleaner did its job. I was just a bit overzealous in what I had cleaned since I was sort of in a frenzy, too many things on my plate today.

So it cleared out my saved logins for a bunch of stuff, that sort of thing. No worries.

I'll have to see what happens when the next release comes out. I wonder if MSE is going crazy - although like I said, it doesn't have anything flagged for quarantine or anything.

Yeah, it was weird. OH well... Thanks for all your attention!

Holy Moses. I think I'm up and running.

    It's installed, anyway.

Disabling the AV did nothing, in the end. Downloading it with IE even went so far as to tell me it was an eeeeevil dangerous program and was reluctant to let me run it at all.

So, that one time that everything went in except for "DVDFab.exe?" On a subsequent install, it put DVFab.exe in, but started complaining about other files.

So I went into windows explorer, copied the EXE, and had the installer rollback.

Then I put the copied EXE back in.

Running it again on Phantom, now.

It is just one of those days.

Hm. Here's what I got using "HashMyFiles"...

    DVDFab9033Beta.exe

    MD5: 162340be04c60ac50f58a34a463df984
    SHA1: 4f2d5b2e2554b94bc7f5eaa8daabdbf914ac9498
    CRC32: bb2c2825

But when I ran the download directly through an online generator, I got 8956FD10241BFB1D2DFDC48F6C71F25E.

Something is definitely amiss with my machine. Sheesh.

It was a good idea - I recognized it as a good idea - it didn't pan out - I appreciate the suggestion, I don't understand your snark. Maybe "facepalm" instead of "Duh" would have been more appropriate on my part?

No offense intended - the concept I was trying to get across was "AUGH!" and perhaps "Really grasping at straws now!" because that's about where I am.

FWIW now Trillian is acting up. I'm starting to feel really messed with here.

If I "Ignore" that file, it goes on and installs the rest of them without error - but of course the main EXE is missing.

I am trying to locate the temp folder where installshield unpacks everything to see whether the file is there, but it's either too clever or too quick for me.

    Grump.

    Thoughts?

    Duh, great idea!

Didn't work. In fact, the newest download is also reporting QtGui4.dll as corrupted.

    I AM SO CONFUSED.

And when I have MSE run a scan on the installer it doesn't flag it.

I'm going to reboot, 'coz why the heck not...

Will do. In the process of cleaning my registry atm.

The problem is that I can't even get it installed, so the execution log is sort of superfluous.
