How come I have to use internet when using DVDFAB9 and DVDFAB8 Qt I don't have to use the internet to use?

You are sightly incorrect with your statement:-
You always had to be connected to the Internet with V8 to do any BluRay processing as the keys are held on the Fab server.
The registration method has changed between V8 and V9. V9 checks your registration on startup. This is to prevent the pirate/scam sites flogging Fab.
