Yeap, I am with you. Wow, I brought the MST3k up thinking I would get laughed at but I am glad to see we all enjoyed it in our own way. I remember one episode where they were doing the creature from the black lagoon or some such title and it was making fun of the costume, this and that, it was hilarious.

Anyone remember the Mystery Science Theatre 3000, just because its cheesy and bad doesn't mean you can't enjoy watching it, when I was younger and in college, the *ehem* mind altering activities were supplemental to it whether grown or brewed ...

I can remember back oh around mid to late 70's every sunday a program would come on called something like "The Double Thriller Chiller Hour" or something similar. They would show two back to back b/w horror movies like "The Wolfman" and "The Blob". it was so cool. Just lately we downgraded our DTV service but there was another channel on but can't remember what it was and I caught "The Fly" (the original with Vincent Price). I know I'm only 42 but dang I miss the good ol' days.

Funny part is I also remember seeing it in 1958 at the Sat afternoon matinee at the State Theater, Manchester, CT.
I think it cost me $0.15 and it was oh so cool...lol
Oh, I wish I had the ability to have done it at the time they were aired but unfortunately I was damned to be born a decade too late. I have seen things however, that will be antiques to my kids. I just can't see me saying, in my time movie tickets were $7.50 is going to compare much to $10 when they are old enough. Doesn't have the same, WOE effect But then again in my lifetime, I consider the 90s the good oldies

@Guardian and anyone else looking for a theater flick this weekend.
My son (23 yo and a pretty good judge of flicks) recommends
    "Law Abiding Citizen"

I'm down with the flu (I know, I know...everyone says they have the flu, but I really do), but I managed to take in
The Taking of Pelham 1 2 3 on dvd.
Not a bad flick...I like Denzel and John T. anyway
Thank you sir, this was on my list too, so that is definitely a good endorsement. Thank him for me.

Glad to here you taking some time off, you now what they say about all work.
Yeah I know what you mean but you are on the right track, it has been on my list for a while and now has an extra plus next to it

As for my taste, I like anything and everything, I know its hard to believe but that makes me easy to satisfy I like action/scifi (aliens, end of the world, time travel, bizarre, creative, adaptive, etc), I like funny/weird (in the spirit of hangover, fear and loathing, happy gilmore, etc), scary/thriller (in the spirit of halloween, saw, etc which don't scare me, I just like them to try at least damn it ), documentary/history/deep (that's anything that is good but is a square that doesn't fit the usual circles), and animation (by virtue of having kids, also more adult ones like simpsons, other GOOD animations or creative attempts), so did I forget anything? Crap that leaves nothing out does it? I am a diehard fan of movies (my sister and cousins are in the field) but I always keep in mind they are just to have a good time, nothing more, although certain ones have good/bad/ugly memories attached to them.

Yeap, a man after my own heart. I love the old, the new is good, better graphics but I love the oldies, including TZ. I saw the OLD b&w of iRobot episode with Nimoy in it as the reporter and then saw the new remake of it color with him playing the old lawyer, and there is a sense of I don't know how to say it when you see both and you KNOW them. Anyway good times.

And a seriously belated good morn to you as well sir. How is the weekend going so far?

Thank you very much, I plan to try and get some work done and then just chill for a change, a bit at least in lieu of all the crap on my plate. I plan to get them done this weekend but still, a little movie time might be nice.

Anything in the movie theater that you guys STRONGLY suggest I go see if I have the time or feel well enough? I have a few things that look good but usually that don't mean jack. Either way, everyone have a good rest of the day, good weekend and those of you getting an earlier start, a wonderful next week.

Oh speaking of the oldies. Since the conversion to DTV this year, we have a new channel called "this!" (5.2) and they play some oldies that I watch and get a huge kick out of. I mean have you seen the ORIGINAL Casino Royale in black and white, shaky camera, grainy has hell, acting is AWEFUL (the charm of it), I have better action sequences in my kitchen, but it was fun to watch. My wife was oh my god-ing through the whole thing comparing it to the remakes but even she got a kick. They play alot of older stuff, its fun, including the older b&W Outer Limits, yes I am a geek
