    The Sony Optiarc 7240s oem is on sale again at Newegg.
    $24.99 + free shipping.
    Great all around burner and one of the best DL burners out there. Has an NEC chipset.
    I bought 2 of 'em last Fall and I'm looking for an excuse to buy a 3rd...

      For those of us who remain in The Dark Ages and still fool with those archaic, round, plastic thingies, this is an excellent burner.

      I bit the bullet and did buy that Argosy for $89.99.
      A couple reviews have popped up at the egg and it looks like a decent player.
      I should have it about 3 days...not bad for free shipping, eh?
      I'll let you know.
