You may want to look at https://forum.makemkv.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=15 which shows compatible Optical Disc Drives. You may have to do a firmware change to get the disk drive to be compatible with UHD 4k blurays

    Blu-ray hardware question

    Hi

I have a bunch of blu-ray disks that I was to rip to MP4 or MKV for safe storage in a hard drive and also portability. Does anyone have any recommendations for a (preferable external though internal is also fine) windows compatible blu-ray drive for my computer. 1080P and DVD up-convert to pseudo 1080P would pretty much be all the resolution I need, I can't think of a need to go to 4K or anything higher. I have DVDFAB 12.3 currently running on windows 10 and want to use that as my ripper.

    Thank you
Working...
