DVD to Digital

Can or will DVD fab be able to convert DVDs to compressed formats such as AVI etc.

I have tons of kids shows and would like to digitalize it so that I can put together playlists.

If DVD fab does not. Is there a recommendation of other software that can.

Would anyone have a recommendation on what format to use? I am looking to shrink cartoon episodes like duck tales etc. individually. Then being able to make a playlist on my computer to play it on the T.V.
