General Questions Regarding BD Ripping to PC

I have a thread started about what DVDFab program to use (Ripper vs. copier) but I have questions about the output source.

I want to rip my Blu-rays to an external HD to play on my HTPC.
I want to get the best possible picture quality (1080p) cause I'm playing it on a 106" screen using VLC.

Is it best to rip BD files to .iso or MKV?

Will I get 1080p using either format?

Should I purchase BD Copier or BD ripper based off your recommendation?

Thanks. More questions to follow I'm sure

If you can play iso then stick with it, no need to convert .

    Yes you can.

Bd copy will produce the iso and mkv will require BD Ripper.

    Hope this helped.
