    Problems

I just purchased the latest version last week and cannot burn anything because it keeps asking for dual layered discs, which I don't have and can't get. Is it a glitch in the new program???? Used an older trial version that worked great, and now I am stcuk and can't burn a thing, it asks for dual layer or fails to burn.

Sounds like it didn't register correctly, try d/ling the key to your desktop and double clicking it to register.

It shows me as registered, and the techs are trying to help, but it keeps defaulting to a dual layer disc, so I can't burn a thing!

I am registered and despite setting the quality to DVDfab5, It defaults to:
        D;\[HL.DT.ST.DVDRAM.GSA.41678.DL10 (Idel)
and there are no other choices.

          Hi Lainey
Please Open Fab click the Click the Green at top right corner of the DVDFab screen, and open Common Settings > DVD/Blu-Ray > Write > Writable media DVD5 size make sure it is set to either a custom size of 4472 or lower.
Also while here go to DVD Copy > Default out put size select DVD5 click OK restart Fab and try again.
Make sure to select DVD5 on the main screen see pic in Gruñón's post #2

Opeb Fabs common settings/write and make sure the writable media size is set for 4300 (not to exceed 4472) for DVD5 and then below that select DVD copy and in the dropdown select DVD5 as the default output size.

If still no go post any and all logs (most recent burn logs and internal), maybe something will show up there we're overlooking.
Double check it's registered correctly and doesn't say expired.

EDIT: I see CBR is thinking the same

Yes, it is set for 4300 and it is set at Dvd5, and it still defaults after the program reloads, It shows me registered. I have checked everything I can think of.

Have you tried to burn anything and got Fab to ask for dual layered disc's again?
You can also rip to a temp folder keeping the DVD5 settings and when done right click the folder to see if the size is above the DVD5 size requested.

Just tried to burn another disc and it just gives me the failed to burn message. I checked my burner and it shows the burner is defaulted to
\[HL.DT.ST.DVDRAM.GSA.41678.DL10,(would that have happened at the download as I did not set this) the write speed is set to maximum.
What I don't understand is that the trial version worked great last month.

Sorry guys, I am going to have to wait until my son comes home to help me with this, I have spend over four hours on it today, to no avail and I am really getting frustrated. I removed the program and downloaded it yet again and it still defaults to the same burn file no matter what I do.
I imagine the burn log was removed when I removed the program. Will check in once I hear from the techs and my son. Thanks. If anyone else is heaving this problme, please let me know.

This is not a folder it is your DVD drive
If you only have one drive DVD Fab will rip the file in a temp folder and when done, you will put in your blank media and Fab will do it's magic and burn the disc.

I figured out the problem. I needed the VSO driver, and it doesn't download unless you check the box when you are downloading the program, so I had to reinstall and can finally burn discs.! Thanks for your help!
