Blu-Ray to DVD with no compression

Blu-ray to DVD supports conversion to either DVD5 or DVD9 which are sensible when writing to disc or DL disc.

But Blu-ray to DVD is also advertised to support to DVD file structure on a PC. I prefer this for use on a pc using Windows 7 Media Center. However, when selecting to DVD9 the picture quality suffers. Also, the compression uses computer resources. For copy to the VOB format to a folder on a PC using this function, why not allow customizable size to support a non compressed format?

Basically, because the DVD/VOB format doesn't support the HD expanded scan format.

The BD discs have to be reformatted from the HD format to the standard TV display lines and columns, then the file is scaled to fit the indicated DVD blank size.

Picture quality loss is normal for this kind of shrinkage.

If you want to keep the picture quality, don't reformat to DVD/VOB.
