Can't get anything to work for PS3...

    Hi,

Has anyone succeeded to generate files working on a PS3 (slim with 320G HD and latest OPsys)?

I've tried Blue-ray Ripper and both used standard (MP4) as well as my own
eperimental setting trying to make it work without any success
All files generated can be played in Windows media player.

I've also tried the DVD Ripper, with the same result as above

I've been trying the the DVDfab 8.0.6.x versions since middle of February.

Can anyone please advice what I might be doing wrong. If I succeed to
get the soft to work, I'm interersting in getting the DVDFab All-In-One.

    I have a Dell with i7 core and 8G internal memory running Win7 x64,
    graphic is nVidia GeForce GT220.

    /Best regards, MrP

Did you mean middle of December?

      Hi,

      Thanks for your respons.

I'm sorry, of course I meant December. When checking closer I started
my tests on 26 December with version 8.0.6.5.

I did a new test since my first posting. This time I installed DVDFab 8.0.6.8
on my old P4 HT 3Ghz barebone computer, with Win7 Home 32bit, 2Gb memory
and simple build in graphic. I shared my BlueRay player via the network so
the old P4 would get access to the BlueRay disc, I choosed normal settings
in DVDFab (MP4), and after some 10hours on the same test disc, result was
SUCCESS. The PS3 could play the file without any problems.

I would gess that my problem is either 64-bit Win7 or the CUDA ???

      /Regards, MrP

        10 hours is normal for a P4.

          Found the bug...

          Hi again,

When disabling the the nvidia CUDA, the generated MP4 file works fine with the PS3. Obviously there is som kind of bug when using this feature with my hardware setup

Can anyone else confirm this bug?

          /Regards, MrP

Cudaa requires a high end graphics card. I have one that says it supports CUDA but just doesn't, isn't high end enough. This is not a bug.

              Hi,

The graphic card is a nVidia GeForce GT 220, still valid and in production (can be found on nVidia homepage).

I tested some other software that support the CUDA technology and those files do play in the PS3.

Just to clearify: Files generated with the DVDFab (PS3 setting) and with CUDA enabled, do play on the computer with Windows Media Player, but is rejected by the PS3. When CUDA is disabled, then the files are ok with the PS3.

              /MrP

                With respect to 90312's comment:

Note your card (highlighted in red) near the bottom of the benchmark performance tests:

                  Hmmm weird.

I'm talking about a bug that I can't see have anything to do with performance, and work well with competitor software that use the same function (CUDA).

You start talking about performance (and you also point at the wrong card, look higher up in the list and you will find GeForce GT 220: rating 446). I doubt that if I spend money on a new graphic card in this case, will get it to work better (but true is that it will convert the movie even faster though...)

I thank you all for your help, and will turn else were for a soft that I've tried and do work with my present new hardware (aqured December last year).

                  /Good luck, MrP

I did highlight the wrong card...in my haste, the only 220 I spotted, sorry, my bad.

                    Best of luck to you
