Optical Drives blu-ray/dvd drive

hi all, just recieved new external blu-ray burner LG BE12LU30, connected no problem it shows up in device manager as using Scsi format (dont know if thats better than IDE/ATAPI) but doesn't say if its in PIO or DMA mode just says this device is working correctly, so opened up imgburn and it shows up in there as RAID (dont know what that means either!) i burned a dvd from my hard drive with imgburn which took about 25mins then let it verify the disc which took another 25mins, do you really have to verify the disc ? do these times sound normal for dvds. im running windows 7 home premium 32/64 bit system on an acer 7811 pc. heres the logs. Hi flashgordon,

do you really have to verify the disc ?

Generally speaking, if the burning process finished successfully, you will get a good burned disc, and you have no need to verify it.

Please don't verify the disc, and play the burned disc directly in your standalone player to see the result.
