    old versions - uninstall?

    I have loaded DVDFab (Platinum/Gold/HD Decrypter) (Non-CSS Version) 5.1.1.0.

I also have DVDFab (Platinum/Gold/HD Decrypter) (Option: Mobile) 5.1.2.2.

    I just downloaded & installed DVDFab 8.0.6.8 (05/01/2011).

Does the 8.0 version replace the 5.1.1.0 and 5.1.2.2?

I'm trying to figure out if I can uninstall the two Version 5's that I've got?

    Thank you.

You can uninstall the old ones without issue, but you don't have to...
The major releases, ie., Fab 2.xxx - 3.xxx -8.xxxx are independent of one another and installed in separate program folders.
Even if you choose to uninstall, many of us keep older installers...just in case
On a rare occasion, an older version will be successful with a dvd where the current versions may stumble.

Yes, any new version replaces the earlier version.
For up-to-date decrypting and new features, it's recommended that you keep current.

Right now, that would be v.8073
If it ain't broke, don't fix it!

      Thank you, Maineman!

The difference in the program names confused me. Apparently, they've gotten rid of the "Platinum/Gold" name for the program.

      Regards, Connie

Yes, those names have been gone for quite some time.
Believe me, you're not the first. It's confusing if it's been awhile since you've updated.

This version should be removed since it does not even remove CSS protection

I have kept several old versions, and it has payed dividends that I had not expected. There have been a few DVD's that would not copy (without large quantities of "unreadable sectors") using contemporary versions of DVDFab, but that copied flawlessly using older versions!
