    Burn Failed

    Hi,
    Can you please tell me how to open the Common Settings window, so I can click on "Diagnosis", to make sure that all the log files are enabled? I am puzzled as to where to find common settings window, in the first place.
    I received a failed to burn_2 error:122 on several of my dvd's. It only burns, anywhere from 14% to 48-49%, and then stops, ejects the dvd from my burner, and asks if I want to retry, abort, ignore, or ignore all.
    I need to know what's happening with my log files, first, so I can send them to you, and then maybe you can help me solve this problem. I would appreciate any, and all help from anyone. I have the newest version of DVD Fab, and I'm using great media, as I've never had a problem like this in the past. Could it be a memory problem on my PC? I'm thinking that might be an issue, if it isn't my burner, media, or my DVDFab program.
    Thanks for your help in this matter.

        Thank you both for your help~

        Thanks to Grunon, I found the diagnostic tab, through the green check mark. And as far as finding my log files, yes, I did find them, and I would love to send it here for you both to look at and see what is happening, but it says that it's too big a file to send. Now it is 4 failed burned disks, and I've never had a problem with these disks before now. I hope you can figure it out, and help me solve this. It would be greatly appreciated! :-)
        Is there somewhere else where I can send these files?

            task2-122

            Hi Crickkette,

            As you know, you have encountered task2-122 error (drive/media compatibility problems). You can do the following steps to see the result.

            1) Try different brand media, well-known brands like Taiyo Yuden and Verbatim will be better; Keep away of Memorex media, some of which are of poor quality;

            2) Try different format media like DVD+R/RW if your DVD writer supports;

            3) Check your writer manufacturers site and see if there are any firmware updates available for your Writer;

            4) Slow down the burning speed from 8.x to 4.x or smaller;

            You can open "Common Settings" window, click on "write", and change the burning speed.

              Still no burn

              Thank you so much for your answer. I actually did everything that you mentioned in your suggestions, and still no burn. Now it doesn't even come up with the task and error message. It only says, failed to burn, do you want to burn again? I am at a loss. Could my memory on my pc have something to do with this? If I don't have enough memory, could it cause the failure to burn? I can copy just fine, so that's not an issue. It's just when I get ready to write it to my dvd in my burner, that's when it only goes to about 14-15% and quits. Just thought memory might have something to do with it.
              Also, if I want to totally uninstall my DVDFAb, and reinstall it, where do I go to find my registration key? I put it somewhere, but can't find it. Is there a place on the DVDFab website where I can give any kind of information and retrieve my key? Thank you for helping me with this..............I'm at my wits end!! *sigh

                Hi Crickkette,

                Please give imgburn a try and see if that makes a difference.

                You can find Imgburn at http://www.imgburn.com/index.php?act=download Open DVDFab "Common Settings" window, click on "write", set the burning engine as Imgburn to burn.

                  Registration Key

                  HI Mona,
                  I just did that twice, and it said that it was sent to my email address, but it hasn't come through. How long do you think I might wait for it to show from DVDFab? Maybe I'll see if it comes through by morning, and if not, then I'll contact you, personally. Thanks, Mona, and g'night!
                  P.S. I sure hope someone can help me with this other issue with my burning my dvd's. If you know of anyone, could you please send them my way?
                  Thank you!

                    Burning

                    Sounds like your drive doesn't like the media. I had a similar problem using a lite-on writer. I use +R media,less problems but go with what works for you. I recently switched to a hewlett packard writer. I can now use maxell,and sony +RDL media. With my lite-on i would get the same messages as you when burning. Always had to use verbatim. I never really knew it was the drive till i got a new one. Just like fab says: Try to find a writer compatible with the different media out there but still hit and miss. Not sure if i helped,Just Some Food for thought.
