Hi, All!
I'm still preferring DVDFab7 over DVDFab8 - and here's why...
When DVDFab8 finishes ripping a track from a DVD it opens up a Windows Explorer view of the folder the files are being ripped to. This results in Windows creating a thumbs.db file immediately. That's annoying, and it's a problem. As far as I can tell, there's no option to prevent this behavior - it's a new "feature" without an option to disable it.
I store all my video on a WDTV Live drive, and use a batch file (and robocopy) to get the files from the "generic" folder to the WDTV Live drive...and the creation of the thumbs.db file causes problems for this.
Am I just missing the option to disable this "browse after ripping" feature somewhere? Any tips appreciated. Oh, and here's the batch file I use (put the batch file in the "DVDFab\generic" folder and map your network media folder to your K: drive):
I also created an Excel spreadsheet I use to rename the media files (which is especially useful for TV series).
