Options to Rip Movies to Hard Drive & Then Possibly DVD

Hi guys, I was wondering what everyone's input was.

I have a bunch of DVD's I would like to rip onto my windows 7 media center machine and then be able to watch to movies via my xbox extender. If the movies are good I would then back them back up onto dvd. In DVDfab 8 I have the option to burn into xbox format which makes the file about 1 gb per movie and 720x300 dpi. If I pick dvd copy DVDfab rips the movie into several VOB files and the resolution is 720x480. Unfortunately, VOB files don't play on the xbox extender.

Anyway have any input on best practice here?

    thanks in advance!

    Hi cloves
Please give my friend GregiBoy's post a read through

Also you would not play the VOB files you will play the folder.

    Hope this helps

Thanks for the reply cbr, I had actually found that thread but still doesn't answer my question. User recommends burning to hard drive them sloping to mobile but that leaves the xbox issue unanswered.
