Movie will load but not play on iPad

I've exported a movie in apple tv and generic mp4 format to play on my iPad. The movie exports fine, plays in iTunes, but will not play on the iPad. I can scrub the video, but it will not play. I'm trying to export at a different resolution now, I've already tried 900 something and 720. Same results.

Any ideas?

You should use iPad profile to convert.

I am not trying to be a smarty pants, but have you updated your iPad lately? I hadn't done that and had the same issue. I have re-converted many movies to watch on my iPad. I have found that doing them in the iPad profile and then changing the format from .m4v to mp4 works well. My computer always puts up a fight and tells me it could cause a problem, I have never had an issue with it.
