Optical Drives Why some copied movies skip sometimes ?

Hi i copied Harry Potter Deadly Hallows Part 1 with DVDFab Main Movie , there was no compression , i used memorex 4X 25GB BD-R media and tries to play the movie on the PS3 , but at some points it skips like 1 oe 2 minutes any 15 or 20 minutes in average , but the movie dont skip on the BD Player of my computer a Sony BD-5300S .

Then i purchase a Sony blu ray player a BDP-BX38 and it skips but a lot less than the PS3 .

What is the reason of this and what i can do to solve this ?? Thanx

1. You can open Common Settings->General->A/V Codec, set video decoder as software and set video encoder as software, then copy again to see the result.

2. To save wear and tear of Blu-ray drive, we suggest you follow these steps to back up your Blu-ray discs.

1) Use Full Disc mode to copy original Blu-ray disc on your hard drive without compression(choose BD50 as output size);

2) Compress the FullDisc folder (with movie folder in it) to bd 25 size on hard drive with Main Movie mode;

3) You will get a mainmovie folder in the target path location, there would be a folder with the movie name on it;

4) You can burn this movie folder to blank disc.

I did what you said to use software option on AV Codec for encode and decode , but i have the same problem , maybe its a problem with the optical drive that have some problems reading some copied movies , because it plays fine on the blu ray player of my PC , but i dont know .

No no , im talking of making a copy from a original blu-ray movie in specific Harry Potter deadly hallow part 1 that skips in some parts , but the others movies copied right .

this may help,

I had the problem you were having but with regular dvd's. i noticed my temp folder was on my c drive. i updated to the latest beta version of dvdfab and set my temp drive to my D: drive and my problem was solved.

when you say my drive D: you mean a external hard drive ??
I dont think it is the solution may be you fix the problem with the beta update , but thanx for the information

I believe updating to 8103 may, in fact, resolve your issue with Harry.

I've seen recent post(s) from users with issues similar yours...a problem with 1 or 2 movies and that's it.
At least one user has seen his problem vanish with 8103.

I think jerry153 probably was referring to a partition on his hdd such as you'd see with a factory built dell, hp, etc.,
but who knows for sure?...that's just my guess.

If you playback the files from the hdd, do you still experience skipping?

Thank you for the reply , maybe it'll be fixed with the new 8103 , I'll try it thanx , btw no , the movie dont skip from the hdd and neither the movie skip from the copied BD-R on the PC , only skips on the PS3 and in my new Sony Blu Ray Player

I get the skipping ahead with quite a few of my DVDs. It skips when I stream them through a xbox 360s with Media Center, but not a WD Live TV Plus. Network throughput is not a problem.
