Can subs be softcoded in MKV?

(I get a Database error when searching, so sorry if this has already been asked before.)

Is it possible to enable a softcode sub feature when ripping to MKV to select subs manually during MKV playback? Right now I have to mux the subs into MKV after encoding (I don't want subs external). DVDFab seems currently to only be able to extract the subs from the source. I have a custom profile to also "Directly render subs to video" (burned-in).

No, at this point you can't. You still have to mux subs into container using other program. However, this option is on devs' to do list and they promised this function will be available shortly.

Thx for clarifying IPo...great that such implementation is near, as this feature would most likely lessen the hassle of and time using other tools to finalize one's encode
